Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Artsy Reader where each week they post a new top ten list and ask fellow bookish folk to share their lists on that topic.
This week we feature ten New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2018. I loved every one of these books, and would love to read more by the authors! All books listed here got 4 stars or above, except for one. I wasn't a fan of Not That I Could Tell, but who knows I may give the author another try in the future.
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me-Mariana Zapata
The Kiss Quotient-Helen Hoang
Monkeewrench-P.J. Tracy
A Curious Beginning-Deanna Raybourn
Lennon Reborn-Scarlett Cole
Jar of Hearts-Jennifer Hillier
Chasing Shadows-Catherine Bybee
Not That I Could Tell-Jessica Strawser
How about you? Did you get to try a few new authors in 2018?

I keep toying with adding the Veronica Speedwell series from Deanna Raybourn to my TBR. She's been on a lot of "best of" lists so I think I need to add it!
ReplyDeleteI just bought the second audio book and I'm looking forward to continuing the series. Hope you like it, Michelle!
DeleteI want to read the Winter sister, and Not That I Could Tell I remember when came out. I kinda wanted to read it, but if you weren't crazy about it maybe I won't rush to get it. I've always thought that Raybourn series looked fun too.
ReplyDeleteI loved The Winter Sister! I think a lot of people enjoyed Not That I Could Tell so you may like it.
DeleteYes to Helen Hoang ans Megan Collins.i want to read Meg Gardiner.
ReplyDeleteIf you like mysteries, you should enjoy Gardiner.
DeleteLots of good ones!!! I'm reading The Winter Sister now and loving it so far!
ReplyDeleteYay! I can't wait to hear your thoughts!
DeleteOh, I love the cover for Not That I Could Tell. It's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
It is a pretty cover.
DeleteA Curious Beginning sounds good! I'll have to add it to my tbr. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it!
DeleteHelen Hoang was a new one for me too (obviously, since it was her debut LOL) and I’m excited for her next release. I still haven’t read anything by Marianna Zapata but I want to change that soon!
ReplyDeleteYou've got to read Mariana Zapata, Tanya! I can't wait to hear what you think!
DeleteI LOVED Unsub, and I really want to check out Jar of Hearts.

Jar of Hearts was really good!
DeleteI read The Kiss Quotient last year, but all the other authors I haven't read yet.
ReplyDeleteI think for the most part you can always give an author another try. There's always room for improvement, etc. Unless they're completely offensive or something like that.
Yes, you're right about giving another try. One of the things I didn't like about the book was a particular character and how her story played out, so maybe I'd like her story with a different cast of characters.
DeleteI read The Kiss Quotient in 2018 as well. I cheated this week and did a list of books I'm looking forward to in 2019 (since I didn't get to it last week), and the sequel is on my list.

I can't wait to read The Bride Test either!
DeleteI never got around to Kiss Quotient yet. Love Deanna Raybourn. And, I still need to read my first Zapata. Looks like you picked some good ones.
ReplyDeleteOh, you must, Sophia Rose! And Zapata too!
DeleteI have read a LOT of Catherine Bybee books. I think I discovered her on KU via the Not Just series, and I really enjoy her books. They usually have a suspense element and a great found-family cast, which is always a plus for me. Hoang is the best find this year. I hope to read many, many more books from her.
ReplyDeleteI plan on reading the next in her First Wives Club as I really enjoyed Chasing Shadows. Hoang was fab! Can't wait to read The Bride Test!
DeleteI just read The Kiss Quotient and enjoyed it a lot. Deanna Raybourn and Meg Gardiner are authors I enjoy. I have read P.J. Tracy but it has been years.
ReplyDeleteI've had The Kiss Quotient on my TBR for the longest time now. Great list!
ReplyDeleteYay for having read a bunch of new authors last year :D That is awesome. I hope you get to read a lot of new authors this year too, with a whole bunch of amazing books :)
