The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.
So this week I've officially started my half-marathon training. This will be the third half -marathon for me, but I'm always nervous! My training should be easier this year, though. Last year I had a wedding where I was doing the flowers. Mind you, I don't do flowers for a living, so it's on top of my job and life that I've done this in the past. LOTS of work, let me tell you. Anyhow, running is kicking my ass! I'm so tired at night I can barely keep my eyes open to read! Here's a picture from one of last weeks run:

Fragmented Loyalty was all about a sexy, smart nerd, so of course I was on board! Two Girls Down was amazing! Alice was a badass and I loved Cap! 5 star read for me and I can't wait to dive into The Janes. Let Me Lie was a letdown. Slow going and disappointing ending.
Received/Purchased/Library Lend:

I broke down and bought Wild at Heart even though I'm super nervous about picking up a sequel to a story I thought ended perfectly. Don't want the perfection ruined, but I've seen good reviews. I immediately requested The Janes from my library once I realized Two Girls Down was fabulous! My request came through quicker than I expected. I had an e-copy of The Best Thing but I'm used to listening to Mariana Zapata's stories so I've been waiting until the audio was released. Yay!
Watched:
This is the second time I'm watching. I LOVED the book series, so I was highly anticipating the Netflix adaptation and it did not disappoint, with the exception of Charmaine (go away, Charmaine!).
How was your week?
Good luck with the training! And snoring haha! So true about running... I used to be fine after a run, now... not so much lol. Aging is not my favorite... :)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of Let Me Lie.
Thanks, Greg! It's a constant battle with age, right? Lol! :)
DeleteGood luck with the training! I admire you runners, and all your running. You see, you have to record your hubs snoring. Then, he would have to believe you. I hope he enjoys watching Virgin River with you.
ReplyDeleteIf I do that, he may record me. He says I snore, too, lol! :)
DeleteGood luck training for your half marathon, I'm impressed! The longest I've done is 15K :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I started with short runs, so I'm sure you could run one with training too. :)
DeleteGood luck with training.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Regine! :)
DeleteWow Rachel I am impressed! A half marathon? That's the way to go!
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday I'll work up to a full. :)
DeleteI admire your desire to do a half marathon, running is definitely not my thing.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading, and running, week
Thanks Shelleyrae. I never thought running would be my thing either, lol.
DeleteCharmaine ruins it! Go away Charmaine
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!
DeleteGood luck with the marathon!! Running is such a daunting task and I'm so impressed by people who run for enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam! :)
DeleteI'm impressed with your training. I'm doing nothing right now but hanging on for dear life. I also want to read the Louisa Luna books. I'm glad to hear they are good ones. Have a great week and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I feel that way sometimes, too, Anne!
DeleteYes, Louisa Luna was fantastic! I can't wait to listen to the 2nd book.
Good luck with your half-marathon training, Rachel! I am struggling to just get back into my regular jogs around the block with all the horrible stormy weather we have been having here. Happy reading in the coming week!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Sunday Post: https://thebookwormchronicles.wordpress.com/2020/03/01/sunday-reflection-1st-march-2020/ :-)
It's hard when you have crappy weather. Good luck!
DeleteI also bought Fragmented Loyalty, but I haven't read it yet. So glad you were into it. Good luck with training for the half-marathon!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun! Hope you like it too, and thanks!
DeleteYay for you challenging yourself for the half-marathon. I am zonked just after a day of work and a long walk so you're my hero. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, might have to dig through our library list for that Louise Luna. I still need to try a Mariana Zapata.
Have a good week, Rachel!
Thanks, Sophia Rose. Yes, go get the Louisa Luna books!
DeleteI am so impressed that you are going to do a half-marathon again. My sister has done quite a few and my daughter has ran 2 of them. I walk a lot and I walk fast but I feel like I am going to die anytime I run. I am thinking that I might need to check out the K.A. Tucker series. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like I might die, too, lol! The Simple Wild was fantastic, hope you like it if you pick it up. We'll see about the sequel. You too!
DeleteGood luck on your half-marathon training Racherl :) I heard good things about The Best Thing and want to read it. Currently, I've been listening to my first audiobook ever, Devil's Daughter by Lisa Kleypas and am really enjoying it. So I can see why you're a big fan of audiobooks! Have a wonderful week and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
Oh yes, Lisa Kleypas audios are wonderful! That's a good one. Thanks!
DeleteIt looks like you have a beautiful view during your runs!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Let Me Lie was a letdown for you. It's the only book from this post I've read, and I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Glad to hear you liked it.
DeleteGood luck with your training. Looks like a nice place to run.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura!
DeleteUgh, Charmaine!! I can't wait for the next season!!
ReplyDeleteI envy you and your half marathon training! I wish I had the desire to run another one, but I don't think I have it in me. I just started trying to increase my mileage again over the weekend, after babying my hamstring for years.
I am reading Wild at Heart and loving it, but I don't think it'll top the first book, just because it was so amazing. Go in with low expectations, and I think you'll enjoy it. :)
Yes! Charmaine was awful!
DeleteGood advice about Wild at Heart! I'll do that for sure.:)
Good luck with your training. I am soooo not a runner, so I definitely admire people that get out there and do races. Beautiful photo!

Thanks, Lauren!
DeleteI equal parts nervous/excited for Wild at Heart. I loved The Simple Wild but I was satisfied with the ending. I’m anxious about what else Calla and Jonah are going to go through. I plan on reading it this month. Hopefully we’ll both love it! Good luck with the training, Rachel!
ReplyDeleteSame here, and thank you!
