The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
It's been a busy two weeks and I didn't do a Sunday Post last week because we were in Montana. We got back Tuesday and I spent Wednesday and Thursday cleaning and preparing for company who were arriving on Friday. They're still staying with us. Dinner at the house, sight seeing and then dinner out tonight. Tomorrow will be more of the same. Needless to say I haven't had much time for reading and I have several books to review. We toured the Empire Mine State Park today:

This is for the last two weeks.
Received/Purchased/Library Lend:
One Netgalley download that I wish I didn't just click on because the archive date is July 11th which is this Tuesday. I will not be able to read it by this Tuesday. I'm so behind right now. The rest are library lend audios. We'll see if I'm able to get to them all.

How was your week?
The cover of the Kate Pearsall book is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteYou have been very busy! It sounds like the good kind of busy so have fun! I think that we have all had some NetGalley regrets...lol. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYes! I want some quiet time! You are so right about NG regrets, haha! You too, Carole!
DeleteWow! You've been on the go. Montana sounds like it would be a lovely place to be at this time of the year in the US.
ReplyDeleteBittersweet in the Hollow has a stunningly beautiful cover.
Yes! I need some rest! Montana was beautiful and the weather was lovely. Glad to be home, though. It is such a pretty cover!
DeleteI hope you are enjoying your company. That park looks beautiful (and seems you had great weather too). I don't worry about the archive date. I just download and review when I can. I am sorry to see the new Higgins coming in at 3 stars. I was eyeing it, but it was long, so I thought I would do the audio from the library at some point. Not sure it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteThey went home this morning so I feel like I'm finally able to relax after two weeks of crazy. I worry that the publisher gets annoyed when I don't have it reviewed by the archive date. Yes, the Higgins book was a disappointment. I usually love her stories, though, so it doesn't turn me off of her. I'm looking forward to her next book. Yes, it was a long book! You might like it, Sam.
DeleteI've always wanted to visit Montana. I bet it was beautiful. Here is my SP: https://bonniereadsandwrites.com/2023/07/09/sunday-post-mountains-and-memories/
ReplyDeleteIt was beautiful! It definitely lives up to its "big sky country" name.
DeleteThe picture of the Empire Mine state garden looks nice.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Thanks! It's a beautiful place.
DeleteYour summer sounds very busy, but very fun, too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm ready for some quiet time now! You too, Lark! :)
DeleteA couple of your books sound really intriguing. I added Vanishing Edge to my TBR. Have a terrific week.

Terrie @ Bookshelf Journeys
Hope you like it Terrie. It was entertaining but not more than that.
DeleteThose gardens look fabulous. And I love the look of A Ghost of a Chance. I hope the coming week is a good one:)).
ReplyDeleteIt was beautiful. I'm liking The Many Travails of John Smith series! Thank you! You have a wonderful week too! :)
DeleteIf you download the Netgalley book, it will still be there after it's archived. It's different for the audio, that goes away. How did you like Vanishing Edge? It's an interesting series. Hope to see you on the chat but maybe not if you have guests.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
That's a bummer you don't get to keep the ARC audios. I'm more worried about the publisher being annoyed that I didn't review it before the archive date. I liked Vanishing Edge. There were some inconsistencies with the plot that detracted a little but it was entertaining.
DeleteThe state park looks really pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt is really pretty and it's nice to see it at different times in the year.
DeletePretty park! And I don't always get to books before their archive date. In fact, I have several that are years past. Its a problem.
ReplyDeleteIt was very pretty. Yeah, I do have a few that are years old too. I hope to clean them out someday.
DeleteWhat a beautiful park! And have fun with the visit. Your books look pretty good too. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Greg!
DeleteTravel and company occupy a lot of time, but definitely in a good way. The garden photo at Empire Mine State Park is beautiful! I had to look it up and learn more. Enjoy your books this week... Bittersweet in the Hollow has a pretty cover.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful place with an interesting history. Glad the mining here is in the past because it wasn't environmentally friendly and very loud. Like 24/7 loud! It is a pretty cover, right?
DeleteEmpire Mine State Park looks gorgeous! The cover for Bittersweet in the Hollow is pretty eye-catching. I hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love the cover as well and have high hopes for the story.
DeleteWhat a busy time! Glad it's all about fun stuff with good company.
ReplyDeleteIt was! I'm enjoying some quiet time today!
DeleteWow, love the photo of the park. So beautiful. And you read some great books!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice time at the park!

Wow, Rachel! You're superwoman coming off a trip, hosting guests, and taking them out all in one week. :) Peaceful garden scene. I got A Likeable Woman and look forward to trying it.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Rachel!
I haven't had much time for reading either as I am traveling in London!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that photo of the garden and that pretty lily pond. I love it! I really want to read that RaeAnne Thayne so badly though!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week. Regine

Between travel and house guests you've really been on the go! I almost downloaded the Thayne book on audio from my library, but I've been in such a weird reading mood. I keep starting books and then setting them aside.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a busy week here too. My sister in law was in town the previous weekend, and my brother was visiting this weekend. It was great catching up with both of them, but now I feel like I need some time off to catch up on everything else! We're off to Madison at the end of the month to celebrate my middle brother getting his PHD. Busy, busy, busy!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a pretty busy time of the year for me too. Hopefully you can get some reading in soon. :) I'm really trying to get less from Netgalley because I'm always behind. LOL
ReplyDeleteLauren @ www.shootingstarsmag.net
I love the look of that garden
ReplyDeleteI'm about to start A Likeable Woman. It looks good. Hope you have a great week!
