The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
It's been a busy week and with work, canning, tree planting, and finishing Virgin River. Also, running, meal planning (trying to cut back on calories), a puzzle, and we fitted a hike along the river close by.
Today (Saturday) we planted fifteen trees. My husband dug the initial holes with our tractor and an auger bit. We had to mix in soil amend to break up the clay like soil here. We have another twelve to plant.

With everything going on I didn't get to read much. All were audios. Two review books and one library lend.
The Last Close Call by Laura Griffin-4.5 Stars
Silver Nitrate-3 Stars
The Only One Left- 3.25 Stars
Received/Purchased/Library Lend:
The Spy Coast and Lights Out are from Prime First Reads. Both are new-to-me authors. Home From the Storm is the fourth book in the Johns Mill Amish Romance series, which has a bit of suspense mixed in. I have been loving this series so I'm excited to read book four!
Thank you to Berkley for the e-ARC.

How was your week?
Wow- that does sound like a busy week! And I love that shot of the river! Looks beautiful there.
ReplyDeleteFun puzzle too! :)
Good luck with the trees, I hope the plantings go well. That will be nice when done.
The river is really pretty! I'm happy we finally got down there to hike around. Love puzzles. Thanks, Greg! We got all in and are awaiting another 10 that will be delivered. :)
DeleteIt does sound like a busy week. Those pictures from your hike are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mark!
DeleteSounds like a full week but I'm absolutely floored by the amount of trees y'all planted, that's amazing! I still need to read 'Silver Nitrate', it's been flying around on my Kindle for weeks now! I hope you have a lovely week :)
ReplyDeleteJuli @ A Universe in Words
It was a busy week! Silver Nitrate was entertaining, but not really a scary read. Hope you enjoy it! You, too! Juli! :)
DeleteYou certainly have a beautiful backdrop for all your outdoor activities. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteI do feel privileged to live in such a beautiful area. Thank you, Sam!
DeleteIt sure sounds like a busy week for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind on Virgin River. I felt a little bit dissapointed at the beginning of Season 3, and I just haven't continued watching.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I think I was about to throw in the towel on Virgin River, but this season and the last were really good. I recommend hanging in there. You too, Maureen!

I love Charles Wysocki puzzles! The older versions are my favorite. The puzzle pieces connect so nicely. Yay on finding a LFL! I hope they had some good books to chose from. :)
DeleteThe trees are going to be lovely, I bet. I am such a tree person.
ReplyDeleteLove that view on your river hike!
I've heard a lot of good things about Silver Nitrate.
I am a tree person too! I hope so. :)
DeleteThe river hike was beautiful. It was an entertaining read.
Great week you have had there. I am glad that you were able to be so productive. Love canning season. It can be hard work but fun.
ReplyDeleteYes! It was hard work, but I was listening to an audiobook so not too bad.
DeleteCute puzzle. I love the trees. Sounds like you are busy, busy, busy..but a good kind of busy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kimberly. Yes a good kind of busy. :)
DeleteYou live in a beautiful place. The trees may be a lot of work but you will be so glad when you have them. That's how I feel about many of my blooming perennials which includes herbs, asparagus and rhubarb now. I hope this week gives you a bit more time to breathe.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Yes! We share a love of gardening, Anne. I think it's because you get to see it grow and produce. It's so pretty too. You grow a lot more veggies and herbs than I do. I'm still a baby gardener in that regard, but I did have some nice tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, basil and oregano. We have radishes, lettuces and green onions coming.
DeleteProbably another busy week. I'm working one more day than usual and then we're on our way to Lake Tahoe to meet my daughter, SIL and the grandkids along with another family, for a long weekend.
That puzzle is cute! It makes me think of a cover to a cozy mystery with a cat pun title!
ReplyDeleteIt would make a nice cozy cover!
DeleteWow I can see that indeed you have been very busy!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteLove that photo from your river hike! And I hope your new trees grow very fast. :D

ReplyDeleteIt is, but it'll be worth it. Thanks you!
DeleteJust planting the trees would wear me out. Love the puzzle! I did one this week, too! I hope that you have a wonderful week, Rachel!
ReplyDeletePlanting the trees wasn't as tiring as I thought it would be. It helped that I was listening to a really good audio book! You too Carole!
