Nothing too exciting to report. I'm working today.
I finally caught up with the read along last weekend hosted by Anne @Books of My Heart so I was able to participate in the chat last Sunday afternoon and it was fun! I forgot how fun it is for our group to get together (over the computer) and discuss a book. There were some good insights and I'm excited about the next book!
The weather has been sunny and in the 60s. I've been getting out and walk/jogging. My husband and I did the same hike we did last weekend but only 5 miles instead of 6 this time. Wore proper hiking books instead of tennis shoes, so it was easier on our ankles and I felt more stable. Today we went to the garden center and bought dirt, veggies and flowers to plant. I'll keep them by the house until the end of March just in case we get another snowstorm. Our last frost date is supposed to be March 25th. We've had snow as late as April here. Let's hope that's not the case this year.
We had some foggy nights at the house. The light is one of our solar lights. It was darker than it looked in this photo.
Had a visit from some turkeys. There were about 20 of them. The cats were entertained.
Smokey (on the left) shoved his way onto the spot where Starla was happily napping. She was not impressed.

All audios. The Swamps was a fun, campy popcorn thriller novella. I loved The Butcher's Masquerade, another crazy ride! It was over 23 hours long, but the story just flew by! Nash Falls was a great mystery/thriller with a full cast of narrators. I'm looking forward to the next one releasing in April.

I have planted some things that will do okay with the cold, but I'm holding off on my tomato plants because we're supposed to get some cold weather in a week. We'll see. I was happy to finally get to participate in the chat!

DeleteThat chat was fun! I think I'm starting the next Dungeon Crawler Carl after my current audiobook. We've also had snow as late as April, but hoping that our more spring like weather is going to stick around from now on. Love the puzzles! The park I used to go walk at there would be turkeys on one side up by a forested area sometimes, it was always neat to see them. Have a great week!

The chat was fun! We don't have turkeys as much as deer. racoons, and geese, but they do come through every once in a while. There were a ton of turkeys where my daughter used to live in East Bay San Francisco area. They're so fun to watch.
DeleteWe had two more winter storms push through last week and I'm so over it. I just pushed the sleet out of the way on the last one because I can't toss the snow up over the piles. We haven't had snow like this in over a decade. Luckily it is 55 today and melting will start. It's going to be over a month until the snow is gone.

I hope the snow melts soon and you start getting warmer weather! A long winter can be depressing. I'm looking forward to it! I have two audios I need to get through and then I'll listen to it.

ReplyDeleteThe cats are constant entertainment! They bring so much joy to our lives! I'm looking forward to the next installment. I store them and work them again. I have puzzles I've had for years. I also lend them to my sister who works them with her husband. They make the rounds, haha!

DeleteTwenty turkeys! I don't think I've ever seen that many together, and I live in rural Virginia. Glad you got out for a hike—and yes, hiking boots are great for stability. I even use them when I'm out for a walk in my neighborhood (hilly, and no sidewalks, plus my ankles have a tendency to roll.) Love the photo of your cats; they are both beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes, they travel through here from time to time. We don't get as many as where my daughter used to live, East Bay San Francisco. There were turkeys everywhere! My granddaughter learned how to gobble before she could talk, lol! Yes, the hiking boots definitely helped. I didn't realize the terrain would be so rocky and uneven otherwise we would've worn them the first time. Thanks! They're sweethearts!

It's mostly Smokey who can't stand being left out or heaven forbid resting comfortably on your own! He can be a pest but also a lovey dovey!
