The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.
I can't believe the rise in Covid numbers! They just shut down indoor dining here again in East Bay area (where I'm currently) which goes into effect Tuesday. It hadn't been open that long and was only up to 50%. Down in Southern California we had never opened up to indoor dining since the shutdown so no change there. Even though it's Southern California it gets cold at night! I've seen some tenting (like for weddings & events) at a few places and of course heaters, and I wonder how is that much different than indoor dining exposure wise?
I'm
enjoying the Fall weather and colors up here in East Bay. The trees are amazing up here!
On my run.
Still no kitty. I can tell my other cat is feeling his loss. They are great buddies, playing and hunting together. He's been hanging out with me more.
We'll be on our way home shortly. As soon as I finish writing this up I'll pack my things packed up and off we'll go.
Read:

As you can see I haven't got much reading done. I've been binging on Forensic Files, oddly enough. I think it's been my way of tuning out all the news. I just would like things settled! Anyhow, loved The Thursday Murder Club sooo much! The narration was superb! I listened to the interview at the end and was so pleased to find out there's another book coming!
Received/Purchased/Library Lend:
(Click on cover for Goodreads link)
So yeah, I didn't read a lot last week, but I got a lot of books to read this last week. Four are library lends. I'm currently listening to Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling #2) for Anne at Books of My Heart read-along starting in the new year, and I'm loving it! I borrowed Long Road to Mercy after grabbing Daylight from Netgalley so I can start the series at the beginning. I'm excited about Deep into the Dark as it's a new series from PJ Tracy and I'm a huge fan of their Monkeywrench series. Sleeping Murder is another Agatha Christie re-read.
Watched:
So yeah, as I said above I've been binging Forensic Files. Somehow murder is helping me ignore the circus that going on in real life. Happily burying my head in the sand here, lol!
How was your week?
If I watched TV I'd be watching Forensic files. My daughter is watching some British show with retired detectives that is similar to the Thursday Murder Club. You're reading all the good stuff and thanks so much for helping with the Read-along! We continue to stay home since March. It is getting scary out there especially since some people don't mask or distance. Our weather has been amazing but this week is the big cool down, freezing at night. Happy reading and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Oh, I'll have to look up that show! I loved The Thursday Murder Club!
DeletePretty fall picture up in the East Bay and glad you got some lovely fall weather. I don't blame you for escaping into Forensic Files. I suspect our restrictions are going to move back to more cautions as the numbers go up. I can't wait to re-read via audio the older books in the Psy-Changeling series.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Rachel!
I think a lot of areas in the US are in the same boat unfortunately. I've only read the first book in the series previously so I'm looking forward to reading the rest. Loving Visions of Heat so much and I've been loving the spin-off series.
DeleteYou, too, Sophia! :)
I'd happily bury my head in the sand right now. Covid cases continue to rise here in Utah, too. Sigh. Maybe someday things will start to get better. Hope you have a good week this week! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Covid is on the rise in your state as well. You, too, Lark! :)
DeleteOh, no kitty :/
ReplyDeleteWe had a BIG rise in October, and now it has gone down, and people are starting to forget again, arghh, people are stupid
I know, poor kitty! I hope numbers start going down. :/
DeleteWow, that is the perfect autumn tree, such beautiful colours.
ReplyDeleteI know, right?
DeleteI am so sorry your cat is not back yet Rachel! And we are on lockdown for the second times this year...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sophie. I think we're all headed in that direction.
DeleteSo sorry that your cat hasn't returned. Cases are going up here (Ohio) as well. No one wants to wear a mask around here. And I wonder about the tents as well-at that point, is it different from eating indoors? It's strange times we live in!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sam. I'm thankful that most seem to wear a mask here in California. I think it'd be a lot worse if they didn't. It is!
DeleteI'm so sorry about your kitty. :(
ReplyDeleteOur state just went into lockdown again effective Wednesday.
Thanks Greg. Yeah, unfortunately I think we're all headed in the same direction with lockdowns. Hopefully the numbers will go down. :/
DeleteWe just went back to phase two as well but, with flu season here, I'm not surprised. Hope you stay healthy and safe!
ReplyDeleteI feel like things are going to shut down around me soon. It's just craziness. So many people are testing positive, and I'm hearing about it more and more with people that I know, etc.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Confessions on the 7:45. And I love Agatha Christie - need to read more by her.

Pretty trees! It snowed here, which knocked all the leaves off the trees. They’re ugly now. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Bummer! Nice to get all the seasons, though.
DeleteLOL.. I feel you on escaping the real world. I love forensic shows of any kind. Hope this week is a good one.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I love crime shows. Thanks, Kimberly!
DeleteThe increase in COVID numbers is staggering. And apparently the current leader has washed his hands of it. I read in the news yesterday that he hasn’t attended a daily COVID team meeting in five months. Lovely. I so hope for some positive steps after Jan 21. Restaurants here are still at 100% capacity and any time I pass one parking lots are packed. It boggles the mind.
ReplyDeleteI really need to try something by Kelly Jamieson soon!
Yeah, it boggles the mind. I think that current leader is too busy trying to subvert the election to care about anyone's health. Can we just fast-forward to Jan 21 please? I'd like to delete him out Gong-Show style. Your time is up, buddy! Next.
DeleteSorry, I don't have much time to comment, but your books look so great that I subscribed by e-mail. The picture of the tree is beautiful but I'm sorry you haven't found your cat (yet ?) <3
ReplyDeleteThanks! I still haven't found him. We keep checking our local shelter's online new additions. :(
