Sunday Post #162

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

Another skipped week of Sunday Post and I'm getting this one out late on top of it. We're in Northern California but will be leaving to go to Southern California in an hour or two. I accepted the job offer for Northern California but I had a six week notice, the hospitals decision, since it's a transfer within the same organization. So I'm back and forth for the next 5 weeks.

We are in escrow with a house (picture from the front porch down below) and I'm really excited! It's a fixer-upper so we have been making a bunch of plans for renovations to start as soon as the house closes.

Didn't get a whole lot of reading done over the last two weeks, but I enjoyed all the books I read. I'm behind on my Goodreads challenge as of right now.

Received/Purchased/Library Loan

I love Sarah Morgan so I'm looking forward to Beach House Summer! I was rejected from Netgalley for Beach Lovers even though the publisher sent me a physical copy! Crazy, right? Then I got an audio copy from Libro.fm so I don't have to squint to read the story. I'm almost finished with the story and it's soooo good! Unless something crazy happens it's going to be a 5 star read for me.

The view from our new front porch. So different from our last house!

  2. Congratulations on the job and the house! Love that view. Fixer uppers can be nice since you can kind of make them your own. :)

I want to start Anna Lee Huber's books soon.

    1. Thanks! And yes, exactly! Everything we were looking at that wasn't a fixer-upper was done in a style we didn't really like anyhow.

  3. Thanks for sharing all the latest with us when you are so busy. I love the view and renovation plans are so exciting. It's just the process that is uncomfortable but it's very satisfying when complete.

    1. Thanks, Anne! Yes, the process can be both exciting and uncomfortable (when you have workers in your house) but I'm happy to renovate it exactly the way we want it.

  4. I hope the five weeks go quickly and are not too stressful. At least it's a countdown to something fantastic. I believe you convinced me to buy a Sarah Morgan book (The Christmas Escape). My library has a lot of her books too. I will have to check them out.

    1. I think the five weeks are going to kind of drag. I feel like I'm already counting all the days left to go. Sarah Morgan is a relatively new discovery for me, too! I've loved everything I've read by her so far. I'd like to get to more of her back list.

    1. Yeah, I'm already counting down the days, but we've been going back and forth from Southern Cali to Northern California for the last four years to since our daughter moved. Not as much, more like twice a month, so it's not completely out of our routine.

Thanks, Tanya! Super excited with all the plans we're making for the new house!
