The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday!
I'm late getting this up as I stayed up late listening to an audiobook.
It's been pouring rain here. We've had almost 5 inches in the last couple of days and we're supposed to have almost 6 inches today alone! My cats are not pleased. They love to be out and about during the day. Surprisingly, they still venture out when there's a bit of a lull. They come back in wet with muddy paws. Constantly in and out!
You can't see it well with this photo, but the creek (in the middle of the photo) is level with the grass in the front yard. I wonder how high it'll be by the end of the day with all the rain!
Starla napping on a dining room chair as I do a puzzle on the table.
500 Piece Puzzle: Winter Perch by Galison
This was fun and quick!
1000 Piece Puzzle: Maggie the Messmaker by Milton Bradley
A lot of fun with all that detail! Plus, cat!
Someone asked me what I do with all the puzzles I do when I'm done. A lot of the puzzles I've had for years and I have them in storage bins up in the attic. I grab a few and work them then put them back and grab another few to do. I usually hand off the ones I've done to my sister and she does them and gives them back. I have bought several new puzzles lately. I need to buy more storage bins!
We've been busy at work. I expect more inpatients this time of year because cold and flu irritates chronic heart conditions, but all our outpatients have been showing up for their appointments, too even with this rain! I think people want to get their testing done before they have to meet a new deductible.
In the busy season do you shop in person or online? I shop mostly online. I can't stand the crowds and lines! I have a whole bunch of stuff to cart to Montana when we travel out to meet with the kids.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Hanover Square Press! I bought the audio of the second Dungeon Crawler Carl.

I keep seeing good things about Dungeon Crawler Carl! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT of rain, but you know what I say, better rain than snow. That's great that you puzzle swap. I knew people who used to glue them down, but if you do a lot of puzzles, what do you do with all those glued down puzzles? What you do is a fabulous way for you and others to enjoy doing the same puzzle.
ReplyDeleteOh my the rain! That's a lot. I hope things don't flood. The cats must be upset with that. Do you ever do a puzzle twice or three times over the years? You have such pretty puzzles so I can see where you wouldn't give them away. And your sister does puzzles too?! Wishing you a Merry Christmas ...
ReplyDeleteYou have been getting the rain! We got a little bit last week, but what we really need is snow. And we rotate our puzzles around...we have a shed full of them because my dad loved puzzles and passed that love onto us. :D
ReplyDeleteI think all of the rain we normally receive is coming to you! I hope everything will settle down and you won't have problems with flooding.
ReplyDeleteI've seen some people put puzzles into Little Free Libraries. And the senior citizen spots I visit generally have places where tables are set up and people work on puzzles along with a shelf of puzzles for others to take home and work on.
Wow, that's a lot of rain. I did some shopping in person this year, but I do the majority of it online. Crowds are not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that sure is a lot of rain you're getting, but hopefully it will help so later there won't be trouble with drought. My cats get buggy when the weather won't let them get their 'snooping' done. Love the winter puzzles you assembled. I had to laugh about all the puzzles in bins. I thinned out my puzzle stash earlier this year and got it all in one bin now.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Christmas in Montana with the kids!
I LOVED Turns of Fate and A Drop of Corruption. Thanks for sharing Kirkyards & Kindness - I didn't know about it. I've got it on hold at the library now. If I had a slot I wanted to get the Wreck Your Day so I'll look forward to your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Whew, that's a lot of rain. I haven't done a puzzle since I was a kid. I don't have any room for them right now.
ReplyDeleteI really need to try that Carl book!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can tell the creek is up high! I have heard a lot good things about Dungeon Crawler Carl, need to maybe give the audiobook a try. I take the puzzles we put in the library for students to do and put them back in the box for future years when they're done. Hope you have a nice holiday week and don't get too much flooding!
ReplyDeleteWow, you've had a lot of rain for sure. We haven't had too much, but what we did have caused all the snow to melt. I love all your puzzles. I have a few that I was given, and I really need to start doing them. I enjoy doing them with the grandkids, but the biggest one we do together is only 200 pieces. Have a wonderful Christmas, Rachel.
