The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday!
We're home over this holiday weekend and the weather has been beautiful. Sunny and warmer than normal (high 60s). Nothing exciting to report. I've been getting out for my runs, puzzling and got some gardening in, while listening to some audiobooks, of course. I planted spinach, carrots, radishes, and green onions outdoors. I'm going to start my tomato plants indoors tomorrow.
We installed a new bird feeder in our backyard as the older one would get clogged up with soggy birdseed every time it rained. We see a lot of birds on our property. Lately I've spotted Oak Titmouse, Spotted Towhee, American Robin, Northern Flicker, the ever present Steller's Jay and a bunch of quail. My cats sit and make a lot of bird calls as they watch from inside. Almost like they're cussing them out. It's pretty funny!
I finally watched The Woman in Cabin 10. I was hazy on the plot of the book, since I read it ten years back, but I do remember Lo being a hot mess, overdrinking and pretty inept with as she tries to figure out what happened. Film Lo didn't seem quite as bad, well as far as the drinking anyhow. I thought they did a great job with the film and really enjoyed it!

How was your week?

Your flowering quince is gorgeous. Yay for nice weather we are finally having some after a couple of weeks of stormy weather. How to Kill Your Biggest Fan is certainly an intriguing title.
ReplyDeleteThe quince gets prettier as more blooms! Hope you enjoy your nice weather, too! I know, right? I'm excited to listen to it!
DeleteWow. I'm glad you were able to plant all those great veggies at this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteThose birds are not common here. Even the robin just shows up here in spurts and only occasionally.
I planted veggies that are supposed to do well in the winter. We'll see. I see birds in Texas (Austin) that we don't have here. You get the Red Cardinal and I'm always excited to see that if I can spot it while visiting. I spotted one with my grandson on a walk last time I was there.
DeleteIt must be fun watching the cats reactions to the birds. The Alice Feeney book looks good. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun! They crack me up! It was good. Very twisty. Thank you! I hope you have a great week, too!
DeleteI was sad to see your 3 stars on the new Lana Ferguson book, but I will probably still give it a try at some point. I really want a birdhouse in my backyard, thinking about one with the camera on it too! We've had true winter weather here this past end of the week, but at least some sun with it. Hope you have a good week!

I envy those 60s and being able to plant so early. I do still have lettuce in my greenhouse cover. Generally I can't plant until February or early March. Great books stats! I see Ilona Andrews held a top spot and am not surprised.

Your plot summary for The Woman in Cabin 10 (which I did not read) reminded me of The Girl on the Train (another woman who was a hot mess trying to figure out what happened). Hmmmm. Your cats sounds like a hoot!
ReplyDeleteThose flowers from your run are super pretty! Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely week. The flowering quince is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like your puzzles, especially the cat one.
Ooh I should really put a bird feeder in our garden too. It's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteYour puzzles looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou're able to plant some veggie plants in the winter outside? That's lucky -- too cold here! Thx for the report on the movie of The Woman in Cabin 10 ... I want to see it. The puzzles look great as usual. Can you finish 2 in one week? Wow.
ReplyDeleteWe had a good week with the whole family, but now both kids are back at school. Good thing I have lots of adventures to keep me busy this coming spring!
ReplyDeleteI love your puzzles! I really enjoy my bird feeders. It sounds like you get a great variety!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen an Oak Titmouse, but I love seeing Towhees and Flickers and Stellar Jays. We get mostly sparrows, finches, and juncos at our feeders in the winter. :D
ReplyDeleteBoth of your puzzle are so pretty. The weather sounds lovely. We are covered in snow.
ReplyDeleteI like the puzzles.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lovely week. Way to go knowing your birds. I could only pick out about half of those if I saw them. My cats do bird calls, too. Funniest thing to listen to.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Rachel!
I got my husband to watch The Woman in Cabin 10. I thought they did a good job with it. No flowers here, and yes, too soon. I need a bird feeder. That is so funny about the cat.
ReplyDeleteOur greenhouse blew away in a storm, and from last year, well no idea to plant anything now :/ But I do get things later my MIl started growing
