The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday!
Are you watching the Super Bowl today? My husband will watch more than I will, I'll probably just poke my head in to see the commercials and halftime.
We had planned to go out to Texas on Friday but changed our plans. I'm happy because my husband had a medical procedure on Thursday and getting on a plane the next day would've been more than we wanted to take on. We went out to dinner with my sister and BIL Friday night and then went to a local library sale and I donated a bunch of books. For once I didn't bring more home!
The weather has cooled down a little but we've still been above normal temps. That will change this week. We have rain in the forecast with possible snow.
Read:
A Box Full of Darkness by Simone St. James-4 Stars
A Box Full of Darkness was signature Simone St. James. A spooky mystery with a touch of romance and I loved it! I enjoyed It's Not Her but had issues with the writing/pacing and didn't like one of the main characters. Impostor was a everything I want in a crime procedural and I hope to continue the series!
Received:
Her Last Breath by Taylor Adams
First Ranger by Brian Andrews & Jeffrey Wilson
The Swamps by Seraphina Nova Glass
Untouchable by Jeffery Deaver

How was your week?

I am reading (or rather listening to) It's Not Her at the moment. I have one more hour before the finale and I wonder what character you are taling about as there are lots of characters (Courtney and the little girls aside) that are not very likeable, even if I can understand that Reece is a teenager and has a hard time and that Emily has a hard time too (but she is still a lot!). Don't get me started on Wyatt ....nor Daniel. LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, most of the characters were very unlikable! I know Reece was a teenager but wow, so not a fan. Her chapters a increased the speed just so I could get through them quicker! Wyatt and Daniel were awful!
DeleteIt looks like great weather. We finally will warm up mid week. I think it's better you are home, also it may be a busy travel weekend. I'm currently devouring First Sign of Danger.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
It was nice to be home. So excited to picking it up!
DeleteI can't wait to read A Box Full of Darkness. Hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it! You too!
DeleteOhmygosh I love your library so much!!! Is it historical or just built to look historical?
ReplyDeleteIt is historical! Nevada City is an old mining town. Love it!
DeleteI will be watching the Super Bowl, especially since "my" team (The Patriots) is playing. My neighbors are having a potluck. It's nice because I can run home and put on my PJs when it gets later.
ReplyDeleteI hope your husband is okay and recovering.
It is nice to have a party nearby! Love watching in PJs! Sorry your team didn't win! He is. He was just really tired.
DeleteSometimes, staying home is just as nice as traveling. Hope your husband is on the mend!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Thank you. He is. :)
DeleteIt looks so pretty where you are. We still have the snow from two weeks ago because it has not been above freezing. One of these days it will melt. I don't watch sports or TV. The superbowl was always annoying because it would be the weekend I wanted to have my daughter's family birthday party. My sister wouldn't come, so we stopped doing it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a bummer about the cold and your daughter's birthday. I don't really watch TV and rarely watch sports unless it happens to be on, but my husband did want to watch the Super Bowl.
DeleteI'm pretty sure I will be looking for This Book Made Me Think of You to read soon. I look forward to hearing what you think.
ReplyDeleteYou showed remarkable restraint at the library sale.
I've heard really good things about it! I did, haha!
DeleteIn my neck of the woods, we are going to have temps above freezing this week. Yippee!!! I hope your hubs is feeling well and that you have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteYay for the "warmer" weather! Thank you. He is and I hope you have a nice week, too!
DeleteI watched the Superbowl ads and trailers on YouTube. I honestly don’t know anything about the game.
ReplyDeleteThis Book Made Me Think of You Is a delight.
Wishing you a happy reading week
I rarely take note of anything sports, but it was a big game. I popped in and out to see the commercials. Happy to hear you loved This Book Made Me Think of You! I hope to start it next week. Thank you! You too, Shelleyrae!
DeleteIt seems like a cool library. And your front yard looks beautiful. Perhaps you need rain and snow there ... we could use moisture here! And that's an interesting puzzle ... with book titles on the buildings right?
ReplyDeleteIt is a cool library. Historic. Thank you. I think we do need the rain. It's coming! Yes! It was a fun puzzle!
DeleteI watched the Super Bowl too and am thrilled with the outcome! It’s wonderful that you visited the library to donate books; I actually do the same thing. You’re lucky to have such beautiful weather in Nevada City right now! I’m in the Bay Area, and we’ve been enjoying some lovely days lately as well. That’s an impressive book haul—I hope you enjoy every single one!
ReplyDeleteHappy that the team you were rooting for won! Didn't know you were in the Bay Area! Not too far from us! It has been nice weather, right? I think we do need the rain and snow so I'm okay with it coming. Thank you, Angela! I hope so, too!
DeleteLove the old historical look of the Nevada City library exterior and those quinces are gorgeous. I think you guys were smart not to travel that close to a surgery. Hopefully, you can go visit soon.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really care about either team in the Superbowl so I didn't even have the TV on (gasp, I know).
I enjoyed the latest Simone St. James and look forward to trying that western from Karen Witemeyer, too.
Have a good week, Rachel!
The quince is so pretty. Loved the pictures. I don't watch football.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool puzzle!
ReplyDeleteMy team wasn't in the Superbowl, but I did tune in for the halftime show which was fantastic!
