The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday!
We've had nice weather here with highs in the low 70s. My husband and I worked a bunch in the garden. A lot of clean up raking leaves and pulling weeds. We planted tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, Anaheim chilies, zucchini, summer squash. Some plants and some seeds. I had already planted radishes, spinach, green onions and carrots which survived the snow we had a few weeks ago.
My mother-in-law fell and broke her shoulder so we may end up traveling there to help, but my husband has a medical procedure on Monday that we have to get through first.
The Closer, with Kyra Sedgewick, came out on Netfix. I watched the series when it came out back in 2005 and enjoyed it. It's still really good all these years later!

I am sorry about your mother in law Rachel! But look at you, a perfect gardener in this beautiful weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I feel bad for her. Her health has taken a rapid decline and it's not easy to know a good person suffers.
DeleteYay for Taming Demons, glad you liked it. You have such a nice garden. I can't get zucchini or squashes to grow because insects chomp them. They were easy in MN. Pretty puzzles and primroses. I can't get primroses to grow for me either. We are watching the Closer for the first time on Peacock. We are in season 3.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I wonder if the warmer climate doesn't kill off the eggs of pests over winter. We still gets pests here, but not too bad. I've sprayed horticultural oil all over and that's supposed to help smother pests and their eggs. My primroses go dormant in the summer and then come back as soon as it warms up just a little. They smell wonderful. The Closer is really good! I just discovered they did a spin-off called Major Crimes with all the same actors except for Kyra Sedgewick. I'm trying to find out how I can watch it.
DeleteI hope your husband and mother in law are okay!! Way to go with all the plants though!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Thanks!
DeleteHope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Same to you!
DeleteI hope they both will be ok.
ReplyDeleteAhh gardening, that is sadly like 2 months away
You have a short growing season! I see you're still getting snow from Instagram!
DeleteIt's been nice here weather wise too. Nice garden.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSorry to your about your MIL's shoulder. Hope your husbands procedure goes well. Our weather is back in the 40's and I am not happy. The puzzles are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope so, too. Yikes! That's cold. It still dips down in the 40-50s overnight here but I don't mind that. It gives me an excuse to have a fire at night. They were fun!
DeleteOh! Sorry about you MIL. I hope she recovers quickly, and same goes for your husband. We had a break from winter early last week (it was in the low 60s), but back into the 40s after that. I really enjoyed Taming Demons For Beginners, too.
ReplyDeleteJealous you can garden. All we can see is snow. Sorry about your MIL. I love the puzzles.
ReplyDeleteI hope both your husband and MIL recover well.
ReplyDeleteI binged Major Crimes again the other week, I like it more than The Closer.
Your garden sounds like it will be bountiful!
Wishing you a happy reading week
Sorry to hear about the MIL. I hope she is healing and gets well soon. Your garden is lovely! I would love to have fresh veggies I picked myself.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope your mother in law is okay. I am glad that I am near my mom for when she needs help with things. Hope the medical procedure for your husband goes well too. We had some beautiful weather last week and then yesterday it got cold and we got snow again! So much it made the roads bad and we had today off of school. Hope you have a good week!

I just picked up Everyone at this Bank is a Thief from the library! Looking forward to reading it!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely spring temps and woohoo getting out and doing some gardening. I loved Taming Demons for Beginners. Hope hubby's procedure goes well and your MIL recovers well, too.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Rachel!
I hope your husband & mother-in-law are all right. Things happen all at once, argh. Your front yard looks so green and pretty right now. Our snow is melting away under windy conditions. Your puzzles are colorful and pretty this week. Hard to find time to garden & puzzle right?
ReplyDeleteWhen it rains, it pours! Hope your husband got through his procedure ok and that your mother-in-law is doing better! Your garden has such a nice variety of things in it.
ReplyDeleteMy dad's wife broke her hip Monday, so I'm not sure what we will be doing to help out. Good luck with helping out with your mother-in-law.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing more about The Paris Match and The Name Game.
