The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
It feels like ages since I last posted a Sunday Post, but it's only been two weeks. I was sick for three weeks after Montana and I wasn't sure I'd be well enough to attend a wedding we were set to go to last weekend in Las Vegas, but I finally felt better. We flew up last Saturday went to lunch at the hotel, then the wedding and then flew home early Sunday. Tiring, but we had fun visiting with friends and dancing.
This week I worked and spent time planting all my plants I've grown from seedling into the garden: tomato, cucumber, green onions, jalapeno peppers, Anaheim chilies, cilantro, summer squash, zucchini, and more I'm probably forgetting. I also planted a bunch of cosmos, zinnias, scabiosa. Lots of things are starting to bloom in the garden!
Lilac starting to open
Pansies and Johnny Jump-Ups coming back nicely after winter!
Puzzle completed: Cape Village by Charles Wysocki
Puzzle: Pickwick Cottage by Charles Wysocki. You can see on the middle right there's a piece missing. I looked all over the floor and couldn't find it. It showed up under the table a week later! Have no idea how that happened.

How was your week?
I'm glad you're feeling better and got to go to the wedding. Those gardens are incredible. And I hope all your cute seedlings weather the planting and grow really well this year. It's still a little too early to start planting all the veggies here in Utah, though I'm hoping to get my lettuce seeds planted this week. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope the seedlings do well, too! I spent a lot of time on them! Lettuce should be good in cooler weather. :)
DeleteYayyyyyyyyy I'm glad you were able to make it to the wedding!!! Your garden is beautiful and amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jinger!
DeleteI'm so glad you felt good enough to go. Wynn Gardens is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteThanks! It was a short trip.
DeleteGood to hear that you made it to the wedding!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy I was well enough!
DeleteI'm thrilled you are finally feeling better. Your flowers are so lovely. I love hearing about your garden. I'm too moody to read some genres right now and am reading mostly mysteries.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Me too, Anne! Thank you! I've been really moody about romances, too. I've been in the mood for mystery/thrillers more as well.
DeleteI hope you're feeling better. That's a bad illness but hopefully it's behind you. Those puzzles are terrific. I have one going now of rescue dogs, hmm not too easy. I'm glad you got a copy of the Vera Wong book 2 ... and the new Beth O'Leary ?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great puzzle! Both were great reads! Loved Swept Away!
DeleteThose gardens are beautiful!! Glad you are feeling better. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm happy to be feeling better, too!
DeleteSo sorry to hear you were ill for so long, but I am glad you were up to going to the wedding. That garden is magical. Your flowers look beautiful too. Not the best batch of books for you, huh? You got the new EmHen (I am jealous). Hopefully the new books are better.
ReplyDeleteIt was a stubborn sickness! I had some really good reads, but a couple were a little disappointing.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better! I brought a cold home with me on holidays, but I think it is finally gone now!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I'm happy you're finally starting to feel better. I feel like I've been sneezing and coughing for a solid month now!
ReplyDeleteLove all the flowers! I'm planting my front flowerbed tomorrow before it gets too hot here.
I'm so glad you were able to attend the wedding and that you are feeling better. You are a reminder to me that I may still need to mask when I travel with large groups of people.
ReplyDeleteI just got Swept Away here. It's great to see how much you enjoyed it.
Glad you're feeling better and was able to make it to the wedding. Stunning garden there. Fun you got in a few puzzles. Ha, I've lost a piece or two and had them turn up in whole different rooms (thank you cats). Pretty Austen at Sea book!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Rachel!
So glad you are finally feeling better! The gardens in Vegas look amazing! I've become "addicted" to a puzzle game I play on my iPad. I cannot go regular puzzles without great effort because I have to cats who find it fun to steal the pieces!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen! I have cats so doing puzzles can be a challenge and they do sometimes knock the pieces off. Or sit right in the middle of it, lol!
DeleteI am glad you got better:) And so many pretty flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
