My
Thoughts:
Eliza is taking care of her eleven-year-old niece, Piper,
but is alarmed when her sister, Bea, doesn’t show up at the appointed time to
pick her up. Especially, since it’s the anniversary of their parents death and
they were supposed to meet up graveside to pay respects.
Their parents died in a plane crash eleven years earlier
and the crash has never been explained. As Eliza searches for her sister we get
glimpses into their past through Eliza’s inner musings.
Mother Daughter Sister Stranger started off slowly
with a lot of time spent on Eliza’s thoughts on the situation and her haphazard
sleuthing. A lot of unnecessary details. There’s a lot in the mix: A past serial
killer, a nosy employer, a self-centered ex. I did find the mystery to be a
page-turning, entertaining one as I tried to figure out what happened to Bea
and if there was any threat to Eliza and Piper. There were surprising twists
and a satisfying conclusion.
I listened to the audio version and thought Stevi Incremona
did a wonderful job bringing all the characters, male and female in a range of
ages, to life. It definitely enhanced my enjoyment!
