Sunday Post #333

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

Happy Sunday!

It's been pouring at our house since Thursday. Thunder and lightning storms and last night the rain turned into snow. I hope the rose buds and tomatoes are okay. It melted pretty quickly and was gone this morning.

We went and saw Project Hail Mary yesterday with my sister and BIL. I really enjoyed it and thought they did a great job adapting it to film!

Everything is green and blooming! We've been clearing out dead reeds and overgrown grasses in our creek. It's been a lot of work. Not sure if you can see well (pic below), but the left side of the tree in middle is cleaned out. Still need to do the right side.

Butterfly on our lilac bush.
You can see some of the dead reeds in the creek in the background.

  1. Such great photos! It is so pretty there. I wish we would get some rain. It's going to be 90s after tomorrow for most of the week. I'll have to do some watering. Wishing you a good week!

    1. Wow you went from winter to summer temps! We had a bit of a heat wave two weeks ago where temps were in the 80s, but we're back down in the 40s-50s this last week. It's cold! Thanks. It is pretty here. We get a lot of rain, thankfully. I hope you have a great week too!

  3. My favorite part of spring is watching the green return. Great pics! The worst part is weather like you described. Yeesh! Talk about weather whiplash.

  4. I just finished The Antiquarian's Object of Desire. I enjoy this author and liked this one more than the previous one. I agree PHM was a very good adaptation. It's one where you can read the book after seeing the movie and not be frustrated because the movie changed things. We aren't quiet in spring yet, but my daffodils are finally blooming!

    1. Happy to hear that! I hope I get a library audio of it so I don't have to traditionally read it, haha! Yes, I agree, I wasn't disappointed by the adaptation at all. I think they did an amazing job with the complex material. Daffodils are so pretty! Hope you get more signs of spring your way!

  5. That swallowtail is beautiful. Despite the snow, I'd take the butterfly's arrival as a sure sign of spring. Magic and Mischief at the Wayside Hotel sounds intriguing!

    1. It is so pretty! We've had a bunch around until it started pouring rain! I'm sure they'll be back after it clears up. We get a lot with our flowers. It was a cute cozy fantasy romance!

  6. I just heard from my aunt up in Browns Valley about all the rain you guys have been getting. Lovely spring green and blooms coming out for you. I am looking forward to Project Hail Mary.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

  7. We have wisteria that grows over our front verandah, it’s autumn here so it’s basically a bundle of sticks and every year my husband talks about removing it completely but it’s so pretty when it’s in bloom I won’t let him.

Wishing you a happy reading week

  8. Our lilacs are in full bloom, but no butterflies. And they're threatening snow at the end of the week. Spring in Utah is full of ups and downs. ;D And I'm excited to read the new India Holton romance; I just put it on hold at my library. Enjoy your week.

  9. We've had a rainy week here too. I finished expanding my backyard flowerbeds last weekend, so it was perfect timing. I've got night blooming jasmine, yesterday today tomorrows, plumbago, salvia, and guara all growing happily!

  11. Wow it's great how green it is there now! We still have brown ... but green is coming. I'm glad you enjoyed the Project Hail Mary movie. Ryan Gosling has a good nature about him that fits the role. I'm a bit curious about the novel Wolvers. Looks pretty good. Cheers.
