About the book:

Dive into Part One of this heart-pounding romantic suspense story, which continues in Edge of Surrender: Alpha Crew Part Two!

When Emma Wright’s government plane goes down over the Philippine jungle, she’s forced to survive alone until an ultra-elite SEAL team goes in after her. As the leader of Alpha Crew, Ryan Owen is no stranger to challenges, but he’s never tackled anything quite like this sexy, smart, and resourceful woman. The mission is to get Emma home safely, but danger is everywhere, and Ryan’s unexpected desire for Emma could be a deadly distraction.

Back home in California, Ryan’s mission is over—but Emma’s has just begun. She knows her plane crash was no accident, and she’s determined to uncover the truth about what happened—even if her quest for answers puts her at risk. Torn between duty and desire, Ryan searches for a way win Emma’s heart while protecting her from an invisible enemy who wants her dead.

The thrilling conclusion to this Alpha Crew romance is just weeks away!
My Thoughts:
As part of the Ambassador of the Philippines wife’s detail, Emma is no stranger to flying, but that doesn’t mean she likes it.  Her world is turned upside down when her plane crashes in the middle of the jungle.  Evidence strongly suggests that the crash was no accident, but why? All she knows is that she now faces dangers from her environment, and needs to get help and off the island immediately if not sooner.  Lucky for her Ryan Owen and his elite team of SEALs have been sent to her rescue.

Ryan and his team are hoping to find survivors, but he doesn’t expect to be so taken with Emma Wright.  She’s beautiful and resourceful, and unfortunately, in a lot of danger.  Ryan’s not looking for a relationship, his job makes it really difficult, but his powerful feelings for Emma catch him by surprise.

Emma and Ryan get to know each other pretty quickly under intense circumstances.   Their chemistry heats up the pages as their attraction grows, but can they have anything once the mission is over?

At the Edge was action packed and danger filled almost immediately!  This is a quick read with just a 144 pages you’ll breeze right through the story. Be warned, the story ends on a cliffhanger making you want the next book ASAP!   Edge of Surrender releases on March 28th which is just a few short weeks away.

My Thoughts:
Edge of Surrender picks right up from the end of At the Edge.  Emma has a target painted on her back, and I wondered if Ryan would be able to keep her safe.  Emma does some quick thinking so the burden is not all on Ryan. It was nice that she wasn’t portrayed as just some ditzy damsel in distress.

In the midst of all the thrills and action, Ryan and Emma’s feelings for each other grow more powerful and they share some very heated nights.  Both want more, but are uncertain about the depth of the other’s feelings.  I felt their need for each other would overcome any obstacles life would put in their way.

This is my first experience reading Laura Griffin, but it won’t be my last!  She writes a perfect balance of action, mystery, and romance, and I was glued to the pages to find out how it all turned out!
