The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.
I'm soooo late posting this, but I've been out of town (yes, again) and super busy, then on Saturday I got caught up in a book I didn't want to put down so I didn't make time to work up a Sunday Post. I read for four hours straight in front of a cozy fire, since it was pretty cold up in Sonoma this last weekend and it was heaven!
The pics below are of Far Niente, a beautiful place to visit if you're in Wine Country.

I'm loving Anna Lee Huber's Lady Darby series! I can't stop reading and listening, so I think I'll get through all my library lends before they're due back. Huckleberry Lake was the book I was the book I got caught up in on Saturday, which was a happy surprise since I was disappointed by the previous book in the series. This one was wonderful! I enjoyed and have a giveaway going for The Vanishing by Jayne Ann Krentz so be sure and stop by and enter!
Received/Purchased/Library Lend:
I was excited to get approval for both A Stroke of Malice and The Dark Corners of the Night!

My husband and I stumbled on this and it was cute.
A book in front of a fire sounds pretty darn good! Good for you! And wow love the look of that winery.
ReplyDeleteThe Vanishing looks great, and so do the Huber books.
There's something so appealing about spending the day by the fire, right? Especially during the cold months. The Huber books are fantastic! :)
DeleteReading in front of the fire for hours sounds heavenly right now! We just got dumped on and I don't want to go outside at all LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'd feel the same way! Unfortunately, I'd have to go to work even if it snowed so I'm glad it doesn't snow out here. The rain is terrifying enough to drive in!
DeleteI love finding a book that's hard to put down.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteThe Peanuts Movie is one of my favorites. My daughter loves Charlie Brown - so much that we named one of our cats Charlie Brown. Lol. It's such a cute movie. I want to come visit you and go to wine country. :D
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty cute! I used to watch all the Peanuts specials as a kid growing up. Being fairly close to the wineries is definitely nice! :)
DeleteI loved those pictures you took. I always enjoy visiting wine cellars or wine tastings :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I do too! The properties are beautiful and usually full of history to enjoy even if you don't drink wine. :)
DeleteBeautiful photos! I think that it is perfect that you were too caught up in a book to get a post together. I have been there :) I can't wait to read The Darkest Corners of the Night. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI know! I hope we both love The Dark Corners of the Night. I'm a little nervous. You too, Carole! :)
DeleteAnd, every booklover understands how a Sunday Post could be late for that reason. LOL Always love it when a book is so good it pushes out everything else.
ReplyDeleteI just started Mortal Arts and still loving the Lady Darby series.
The winery looks beautiful.
Have a good week, Rachel!
Yes, I guess we all can understand that, lol! Yay for loving the Lady Darby series! It's sooo good, I'm addicted. You, too, Sophia Rose! :)
DeleteSonoma is a place I haven't been yet and would love to visit!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful area even if you don't like wine. Hope you get there!
DeleteI've never had wine but I've always wanted to try it and go to a wine tasting.
ReplyDeleteMost don't like it at first. I'd love to hear what you think. :)
DeleteReading for 4 hours in front of a fire sounds positively dreamy. :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing the Peanuts gang takes me back. I never missed those yearly TV specials as a kid. :)
Ever book lover's dream, right? I always watched them too! It was a treat to watch a cartoon at night back when I was a kid. So different now when you can get a cartoon 24-7. :)
DeleteYou always have the best weekends. I would love to read in front of a cozy fire. I just read in front of my space heater. I feel like it's just not the same kind of experience.
ReplyDeleteLol! It's still cozy I bet and when you're immersed in a book you love it probably doesn't make that much difference. :)
DeleteI like the look of a strike of malice!
ReplyDeleteAnd nice photos :)
Ahh the Peanuts Movie! That looks so cute. I remember watching the Peanuts Thanksgiving with my younger sister in November and loving the piano. I like the pictures you included! Have a lovely week :))
ReplyDeleteclaire @ clairefy
What an exciting week you had all around :D
ReplyDeleteSitting for four hours reading a book you can't put down in front of the fire sounds like heaven! Sonoma sounds wonderful for an out of town vacation, and I love the pics! Wonderful haul Rachel :) Happy Reading!
