About the book
MacKenzie Cahill has dealt with overbearing and overprotective brothers her entire life, making it near impossible to enjoy her teenage years. Having a boyfriend was practically impossible until she met a guy that wasn't afraid to stand up to them - Dominic. He was sweet, thoughtful, and everything MacKenzie ever wanted in a man.
But when they go away to college at Old Dominion University, MacKenzie sees a whole new side of Dominic and begins to wonder if he really is different from every other guy.
Her world is turned upside down after a party, and her brothers' best friend Hunter is the one there to offer her a shoulder to cry on. The chemistry between them is electric, and feelings for each other that have been hidden for years are finally voiced.
Is Hunter willing to be disloyal to his best friends in order to be with the one girl he's always secretly wanted?
Arlene's Thoughts
There were a few things that caught my attention for this book. First being, the over protective brothers. I have a soft spot for sibling protectiveness that stems from a tight knit family. I guess lately I'm in the mood for a story that appreciates family having just finished a few such novels. Also, this falls right into the genre that's been keeping my interest. It's no doubt that new adult literature has caught a strong wave of followers, and I'm definitely at the top of the list. But overall, I'm eager to meet MacKenzie and Hunter to see what comes of these two that have probably always been around each other, but just recently felt that spark. Count me in! I can't wait to read Trying Not To Love You!!
Rachel's Thoughts:
Oh, I like the sound of this! No doubt Hunter and MacKenzie are very familiar with each other and their families with Hunter being best friends with her brother, so they have a wonderful history! I love it when friends turn into something more, when that figurative lightbulb goes off, and suddenly you realize that friend is so very attractive and a great catch on top of it! I really want to pick this up soon! I must mention that I skimmed through a few reviews and I noticed there's a big CLIFFHANGER!! Arlene, what are you doing to me?!!!
