Sunday Post #159

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

So it's been a busy past week! We had the open houses Saturday and Sunday and then went through the offers that came in, working and keeping the house picture perfect just in case we had more showings. We had some stressful days of back and forth with offers and contingencies, but we're in escrow right now.  Thank goodness! In amongst all this we were set to babysit the two grandkids Thursday to Sunday because it's my daughter's anniversary. At first I thought I'd be going alone and wrangling a four and six year old on my own with school drop offs and pickups, not to mention all the extra activities! Thank goodness my husband was able to come as well because even with his help it's been a lot of work! I did manage to go on a couple of hikes and have some me-time:

Read:
(Click on cover for Goodreads link)

I'm officially four books behind on my Goodreads challenge. I guess it's no surprise with all that's going on. I am reading (listening to one) two books I'm loving and hope to finish one on the way home. I loved The Book of Cold Cases, though. I'm happy I chose it for my BOTM this month.

Received/Purchased/Library Lend:

Both are library audios. I requested Hook, Line and Sinker from Netgalley and got rejected and I'm still pending in Edelweiss. I never requested An Impossible Imposter because I somehow missed that it was coming out. Two less reviews I'm obligated to write. Right now with so much going on that's a good thing!

The scenery from my hike yesterday. So gorgeous!

How was your week?

  1. That certainly does sound like a busy week or so! Glad things are moving forward for your house and that you spent some lovely time with your grandchildren, with the help of your husband.

My week has also been very busy, with work, youth club, dance class, church, taking my car to the garage and cooking lunch today; which all in all has really slowed my reading down!

Take care, happy reading and I hope your house sale will complete quickly and well. 🙂

  9. I am crossing my fingers that all goes well with the house. I have started to adopt the same attitude as you when I get rejected, especially when they are books I know I will be able to get from the library. I can enjoy with no obligation to write a review.

  10. Congratulations on going into escrow! I hope all goes smoothly from now until closing. I don't mind buying a house but selling one isn't any fun. It does sound like you had your hands full. It is great that you are willing to take over and give your daughter a break. Have a great week!

  11. What a great week you have there even if you are so busy. I do think its okay to get rejected for books. If its an author I love I will still buy it.

  14. Congratulations on the house sale, that can definitely be stressful. I love babysitting my grandkids, but usually do it one at a time, so I am glad you had some help.
