If It Drives (Market Garden, #7)

If It Drives by Aleksandr Voinov & L.A. Witt
Published on March 31, 2014 by Riptide Publishing
If it flies, drives, or fornicates, it's cheaper to rent it.

After driving James Harcourt, his wealthy banker boss, around for a year and a half, Cal isn’t surprised by much anymore. Not even James’s regular trips to Market Garden, London’s most elite gay brothel.

But when James leaves the Garden alone one night and turns to Cal instead, Cal’s floored. After crushing on his boss for ages, it’s his wet dream come true . . . until the awkward morning after. Cal still has a job to do, but he wants to offer more. Yet James doesn’t take him up on it; he keeps Cal at arm’s length and continues his chauffeured jaunts to Market Garden.

As Cal learns what James needs from the rentboys, he tries to fill that need himself. But there’s more to James’s penchant for rentboys than Cal realizes, and it may be one role that Cal can’t fill without overstepping his duty.
Excerpt
Since Nick and Spencer show up in If It Drives to help Cal find his footing as a Dom, we thought we’d do a little flashback to If It Flies, back when Nick and Spencer were still finding their footing…

“Spencer.” Nick’s voice was firm, though kind, nothing like that easily commanding game voice he used. “Look at me.”

Spencer did, and Nick looked at him intently, like this was terribly important. “Right now, you’re in a pretty weird place. Open doors and all that. You’re discovering what you really like, and that’s fine by me. I’m more than okay to train you. But the thing is, it’s intense. It can be really intense, and emotions get muddled. What’s lust and getting off on the pain can quite easily get mistaken for something more than that. I’m not saying ‘more serious,’ because that stuff is damn serious, but I know people who’ve made life decisions based on those feelings and ended up making mistakes. Do you understand?”

“What if you’re wrong?”

“I’m not,” Nick said, matter-of-factly. “I’ve seen it before. I can be your Dom, but there’s no way in hell I’ll date you.”

Double ouch.

“Okay. I appreciate your honesty.”

“Just making sure you don’t end up in a bad place there, Spencer. I have to look after you. Part of the job. If I take you there, I have to make sure you’re safe and find your way back.”

“Sounds very . . . ethical.” It hurt a bit, but maybe Nick was right and this was the best moment to nip it all in the bud. Maybe it was just flying high from the pain that felt similar to a crush or something even worse. The lust was a given, the emotional side . . . wasn’t. But with his normal everyday defences stripped, maybe it was just too easy to fall into that trap—to think this could be more.

“For the record,” he said, “I think people not dating you for your job are fools.”

The subtle grin broadened into a full-blown smirk. “Well, you’re a lawyer. You would say that.”

Spencer laughed. “Come on, I don’t spew bullshit that badly. It’s not like I’m a defence lawyer.”

Nick threw his head back and really laughed, which didn’t do a damned thing to build Nick’s case that this was all some instinctive response to being stripped down to raw vulnerability. God, he was gorgeous.

Spencer masked a shiver by turning onto his side and propping himself up on his elbow. “So when you say you’re willing to . . . train me? Be my Dom? What exactly does that mean?”

“It means you become a regular client.” Nick was all professionalism and negotiations again. “I’ll do what I did earlier and—” he winked, breaking out of that strictly business mode for a second “—what I still plan to do tonight, and let you sort out what you want, what you don’t want, and what kind of submissive you really are.”

Spencer rolled the idea around in his brain for a moment. He’d never thought of himself as a submissive or a masochist, it had just happened—quite naturally—in Nick’s company. He’d have been lying if he said he wasn’t intrigued by the idea of more. Pro? More sex with Nick. More of this insanely amazing pain. Maybe figuring out what the fuck it was he wanted in a man. Con? More sex with Nick. More of this insanely amazing pain. Quite possibly figuring out that what the fuck he wanted in a man was everything about this man.

“You’ll get a better grasp on it all as you go,” Nick said, eyeing Spencer like he could hear his thoughts, “and you’ll be able to tell where the physical ends. Because that’s all this is. It’s physical. There’s some deep psychological shit going on, and it’ll get even deeper and stronger, but it’s not what it seems like to you right now.” He trailed his fingers down Spencer’s face. “It’s the pain and the domination. Not me.”

“So you’re a mind reader?”

“No. Just experienced.” Nick’s expression hardened. “And the one condition of this arrangement, if you want to sign up for it, is that it stays like this. You’re learning to enjoy pain and be a sub. I’m making money. End of story.”

Spencer considered it for a moment. Nick was probably right. He did know his way

around all this crap. Spencer was a lab rat just stepping into a maze, and Nick had been through

it enough times that he knew what he was talking about when he said “don’t go that way.”

“All right,” he said. “Strictly business, and strictly, uh, training.”

Nick hesitated, and then smiled. “Good. I think this will be fun.”

“I thought it was strictly business?”

“Yeah, well, Mr. High-Powered Lawyer.” He winked. “Some of us actually enjoy our jobs once in a while.”

Spencer laughed.

Nick moved closer, and Spencer gasped when that slender hand drifted down his chest. “And speaking of which, I’m still on the clock.”

My Thoughts:
I really enjoy this whole Market Garden world that Aleksandr Voinov & L.A. Witt have created.  It's fun and sexy and well just yum yum yummy!

In this installment we meet Cal who is James' driver.  He basically is at James' beck and call and for the past few months Cal has had a huge crush on him.  Cal would love to fill in for the rentboys that James always hires from Market Garden but he works for him so it is out of the question.  Until one evening when James asks Cal to come in.  All bets are off at that moment and things go from quiet steamy to explosively hot!

If It Drives was another great addition to the Market Garden series.  I have loved getting to know all the different characters throughout and I loved that we got to revisit Nick in this one. Cal needed some help with how to handle his situation with James and Nick was just the person to help him.  If you read the previous books then you know why Cal had to go to him, but if you didn't then you really should read them because Nick makes quite the Dom!

This book like the others was hot, but with this one we get to see a different side in my opinion.  I think that had to do with the main characters not working for Market Garden.  The whole club was really just in the background so what we were left was a lot of steamy scenes but more emotional ones as well.  I appreciated this because it let me get a better look into who I was reading about and it just made me feel more connected.  Don't get me wrong there are plenty of steamy scenes and I had to wipe the fog from my glasses numerous times, but in this one the quiet moments really grabbed me.  The story was a sweet one from the get go and I really loved seeing Cal go get his man.

I really hope there are more books planned for this series.  I think I am two books behind but I hope to read those in the next few weeks.  Cal and James were a great addition to the series and I can't wait for the next one.  I will say that I am hoping I get to see Tristan and Jared one more time.  I will even take them as side characters if I have to.  Those two were the ones that made me fall for this series and I just can't get enough of them!

Blog Tour Review: Payoff (Market Garden #6) by L.A. Witt & Aleksander Voinov

Today Waves of Fiction is participating in the blog tour for Payoff by L.A Witt.  For our stop we have a review to share with you as well as an awesome post from the authors!
Payoff (Market Garden, #6)
Payoff (Market Garden #6) by L.A. Witt & Aleksander Voinov
Published on February 3rd, 2014 by Riptide Publishing
About the book
Tristan and Jared have got it made. When they aren’t raking in the cash together at Market Garden, they’re burning up their own sheets and getting closer by the day. But something isn’t right. Tristan’s on edge, and Jared doesn’t understand why.

Before they can hash things out, their services are requested by none other than Rolex. And Rolex doesn’t just want to be a bystander this time. He wants Jared while Tristan watches, and he’s more than willing to pay for it.

But Tristan’s reached a breaking point, and even that huge wad of cash might not be enough to keep tonight’s arrangement from crashing and burning.
My Thoughts:
I love these books!  I was immediately hooked after reading Quid Pro Quo and after a sexy lap dance in Take it off I have been dying to know what Jared and Tristan have been up to!  Well Payoff did not disappoint me and I am left squeeing for these two characters!

Payoff takes off where Take it Off left off.  Tristan and Jared are together, but still working at the Market Garden.  Things have been going okay and they both knew going in that their line of work was just that work.  That was until Tristan started questioning things and feeling things he wasn't used to feeling.  When Rolex walks in the true test begins and it was heart breaking to watch both Tristan and Jared come to terms with what was coming.

The previous two books only gave us one POV and I was excited to see that in this one we get to see inside both their minds. They were both thinking the same thing and that was nice to know, it made it to where I wasn't cringing wondering what the other person was thinking.  I don't like being blindsided with my favorite characters which these two definitely are.

Tristan and Jared have come along way since the very beginning but they are just as hot as ever.  This book deals with more emotions which was awesome to see.  In this installment I wanted more than just spicey scenes and I loved seeing them actually talk to one another.  They needed to say a lot and clear the air because if they didn't I don't think they would have lasted.  After having the air cleared I am more than happy with the outcome.  It was what I wanted and I am happy with their HEA.

Now don't get me wrong there are some pretty hawt scenes, I mean its Tristan and Jared.  You shouldn't expect anything less from them, but their soft moments were just heartwarming and awesome.  Their spicey scenes were beyond hawt though and Rolex just added a whole other level.

I am hoping that Rolex gets his own book.  I have only read two others from this series and they didn't involve Rolex, but I am hoping the others might feature him.  He is quite the character and well I just really want to know his story!  This series just gets better and better and they are fun books that pack quite a punch!

Payoff (Market Garden)-Saved by Porn
To avoid getting into any kind of trouble with my still-employers, the following scenario is for entertainment puproses only and does not, in fact, reflect anything bordering reality.

Okay, so I got the disclaimer out of the way. Lori and I have already told the story about how the Market Garden series started. It did not, in fact, start with Quid Pro Quo. The first part was If It Flies. But while If It Flies was in edits, it had already become clear that there was so much untapped potential.

Imagine, if you will, one of London’s financial centres. It’s where we do actually have a number of skyscrapers clustered together. In one of those sits a financial editor with nothing to edit. A slow week, you see. And nobody else in the office—or at least, no boss and boss’s boss. It’s about 13:00, after lunch. Four more hours to go. The nondescript open plan office is quiet. The editor in question is stretched out across his desk, brain liquifying with boredom. Said editor is much better with stress and heavy workload than boredom. Much. Much. Much. Better.

There. A window pops up in Google chat. It’s Lori, who’s just fallen out of bed.

“How are you doing?”

“Kill. Me. Now.”

“What’s up?”

“Soooooo bored. I’m gonna kill somebody just to break up the boredom. Spree killing in Canary Wharf. If you see that headline tomorrow, that was me.”

“Ehhhh. Or we could write something?”

“It’s gotta be short.”

“Let’s write some porn?”

The editor perks up. Porn at work? Awesome. Getting fired for that would definitely shake things up.  “Let’s do this!”

And Lori sent me a link to a shared document, where, in due course, the first few lines appear out of nowhere:

“Feast or famine in this place, isn’t it?” Tristan sighed heavily. He wore his boredom as if he wondered how dare the universe not entertain him, and lounged as much as anyone could on a barstool. He was like a cat in that respect. He could stretch and bend to get comfortable—at least, Jared assumed he was comfortable—anywhere he damn well pleased. Right now, his arm seemed like the only solid piece of his body, his elbow on the bar and his hand against his face, holding up his head as the rest of him poured over the edge of the bar, onto the seat, and down the stool leg to where the toe of his boot touched the floor.

And we wrote a solid 90% or so on paid time, and the rest when I got home that evening. Hurrah for slow workdays.

Review: Take It Off by L.A. Witt & Aleksandr Voinov

Take It Off (Market Garden, #2)
Take It Off (Market Garden #2) by L.A. Witt and Aleksandr Voinov
Published February 25th 2013 by Riptide Publishing

About the Book:
Turnabout is foreplay. High-end Market Garden rent boys Tristan and Jared have found their niche. Men are willing to pay good money to watch Tristan tease Jared, and the two of them seduce London’s elite with sex and power games. Except Tristan is less and less interested in getting money out of the johns these days. He wants his partner in crime, and he wants the seduction to be real. But is Jared just in this for the pay? When Rolex, the john who started it all, returns to Market Garden, the boys jump on the opportunity to service him—and each other—for a fresh pile of cash. Rolex isn’t the only one itching for a rematch, though. Jared’s been waiting for a chance to get back at Tristan for teasing him so mercilessly the first time. And for a former stripper, revenge is a dish best served extra hot.
My Thoughts:
Music pulses. Hearts skip. Bodies pump. Sweat slowly trickles down as the temperature climbs. Move. Grind. Tease and touch…oops! *shakes head* No touching! Hold tight to something because this intense, deliciously, sexy dance brings hot to a whole new torturous level! You will beg, plead, and moan…Take. It. Off!  Please….*whimpers*

Take It Off is round two in L.A. Witt and Aleksandr Voinov’s Market Garden series with rent boys Jared and Tristan and the john with the desire to watch. Ever since the first lust fueled encounter with Rolex, Tristan finds himself needing more of Jared. Wanting all of Jared. But is their “double-teaming johns” performance just an act for money or something more? Tristan is no longer sure. Vulnerability, longing, and jealousy are seeping through Tristan’s tight control. And I have to say—a HOT & bothered, possessive Tristan edged with uncertainty and emotion ratchets up the need, heat, and tension even higher! There is no place else I would rather be than watching these two push, tempt, and tease each other.

This time out, Jared, our hot, young twink with a new confident swagger to his step, is in control of the game and Tristan is the one shivering, squirming, and struggling to hold on to his composure and control in a brutal turn of the tables power game. Sooo…what drives Tristan crazy and pushes him to the edge?  Two words—Lap Dance.

”Tristan whimpered softly as he grabbed onto the chair again, fingers and palms still warm from Jared’s hot skin.”

Once again, Voinov and Witt bring us to the brink of losing it! The tension, desire, and need to touch are so thick in that room. I could feel it in the air! Each and every swivel, slooow slide, gasp, bend, and hip grind thrusts us deeper into the intense lust filled game between these three men. My hands were in fists, nails digging into my palms and my heart thumping away to the beat of the music. Very hot, brutal, fun, and sexy!

I loved spending time in Tristan’s head. His voice was surprisingly sweet.  A touch to the thigh, whispered word, gaze or squeeze here and there left me grinning and glowing.  Little signs filled with emotion and hope.  Hope that these two will find something more away from the game.  It just goes to show, you never know what you’ll find when you start striping away the layers of cocky, smirking confidence. What you’ll hear, see, and feel in Tristan’s voice and actions may just surprise you.

So needless to say I’ll be right here fanning myself, re-reading, and waiting for more from the Market Garden Gang!

Review: Quid Pro Quo (Market Garden #1) by L.A. Witt & Aleksandr Voinov

Quid Pro Quo (Market Garden #1) by L.A. Witt, Aleksandr Voinov
Published January 7th 2013 by Riptide Publishing
About the book
For the past six months, Jared’s been selling sex at Market Garden, a London club that caters to the better-off. But business is slow in the run-up to Christmas, when businessmen and bankers are too busy bickering over bonuses to rent themselves a little high-class action.

Though Jared’s wallet finds the downtime unnerving, the rest of him rather enjoys the opportunity it gives him to admire Tristan, an old hand in the club whose reputation usually sees him well-booked. Jared has been crushing on Tristan for months—he’s no more immune to Tristan’s cockiness and confidence than the johns, and those are just Tristan’s inner qualities.

Just as Jared’s about to chat Tristan up, a businessman asks for something a little different: he wants to book them both. They agree—and Jared finds himself going from crush to mind-bending lust as he’s made the pawn in a sexual power game. Tristan shows him how a pro handles a john while delivering the top-shelf sex for which the Market Garden is so rightly renowned.

My Thoughts
L.A. Witt, Aleksandr Voinov, two sexy rent boys, and one rich john come together to form one hell of a ride! Quid Pro Quo is a scorching HOT night of teasing, sucking, stroking, and the slap, slap, slap of… *cough*…Lets get this show started.

A slow business night for Jared and Tristan soon turns into a night of fantasy when a high priced john pays to watch Tristan and Jared in action. How far and fast will be determined as the night heats up. Jared has been lusting after Tristan for awhile-- watching from afar, longing to touch. So when the opportunity to spend the night with Tristan arises, he jumps all over it! Hunger, lust, control, intense sexual tension and sizzle fuel the energy on the page. You will see and feel the “dig-your-fingernails in & hold-on-for-dear-life” tension all the way down to your curled toes.

”He fully intended to savour every second and every inch. Every ridge and contour. Every taste of Tristan’s skin, every gasp or whispered curse.”

I usually fall in love or lust with a character (or two) in an Aleksandr Voinov tale, but this time out it was the pace that had my heart skipping and panting. A pace that went from a strobe light speed of licking, kissing, and touching to full stop to teasing, mounting about to pop pressure until we hear that *SLAP* of money on the table. I found myself sitting straight up, full attention, biting my lip, hot, and ready to dive into my purse for a twenty or two!  The sexual heat between these men was the force that drove this story and me. It felt like lightening in a bottle!

This story is a stunning example of impeccable timing that lures the reader in deeper and deeper. I couldn’t stop reading! The action is told from one point of view, which for me added the perfect dose of suspense, anticipation, and spice. We experience the night through the eyes and voice of Jared, so we can only wonder what is going through Tristan’s head. Is this just a business transaction for Tristan or was that a shiver?

You have to dive in to find out. A reading experience like no other. Voinov and Witt together are electrifying! Here’s hoping with see more of this team in the future. Lots more!
