Teaching Willow: Session Two

Series: Teaching Willow: Session 2
Author: Paige James
Publication Date: April 8, 2014
Hosted by: Wordsmith Publicity

About the book:

Infatuated. That’s how it began.
Desperate. That’s when it escalated.
Addicted. That’s what I’ve become.
Just when I think that I’ve discovered the one thing I wouldn’t do for Ebon, the one extreme to which I would not go, I find myself exceeding it. Looking back with regret, looking forward with dread, and living the now like it’s all I’ve got.

Because it is.
It’s pure bliss. It’s unimaginable hell. It’s all I know, all I want to know. A runaway train that I can’t stop, one that I don’t really want to.
But disaster is coming. It will turn sweet into bitter, deception into devastation. Perfection into wreckage.

Ruin. That’s what’s coming.

Ruin.

Excerpt:

 “What time?”
“Eight?”
I do some mental calculating and decide that I can be in full Sage form by then.  “Sounds good. Can I bring anything?”
“No, I’ve got everything you’ll need,” he says, his voice little more than a purr.
God, he’s sexy.
“Well, if you change your mind…”
“Oh, I won’t change my mind. There’s nothing I’d like more than to have you for dinner.”
Did he mean to phrase it that way?  “I meant about me bringing something,” I clarify carefully, not sure how to take it.
“All you need to bring is your appetite.  Just come hungry,” he says slowly.
I don’t know if he means for everything he’s saying to sound so…evocative or if that’s just how I’m hearing it.  Either way, I find myself biting back a moan.
“I won’t...eat anything until I get there then.”
“Mmmm, the thought of you…eating all by yourself makes me even hungrier.”  His voice is a low growl, rumbly and hoarse.  If I close my eyes, I can almost imagine him lounging on a bed with his palm over his crotch, rubbing back and forth over his zipper.  All the while thinking of me.
“You want to watch me…eat?”  I’m breathless. From a simple phone conversation.
“God, yes!”
“Maybe one of these days we can watch each other…eat.  Would you like that?”  My comment, even my voice surprises me.  Who the hell am I turning into?
“Fuuuck,” he moans, the air hissing through his teeth, like he’s clenching his jaw.  “That’s going to happen. I promise you.”

Your Perfect Day
Willow:  If I could plan a day with Ebon, I would rent a private cottage deep in the forest in a lush place, like Oregon.  There, we would read to each other, feed each other and make love until we were both exhausted.  And then we’d sleep and wake up to do it all over again.  Only in my perfect day, when Ebon breathed my name, he would call me Willow.  Willow, Willow, Willow, over and over again.

Ebon:  If I could plan the perfect day, I would blindfold Sage and drive her to a field in the middle of nowhere. I would lead her out into the soft grass, under the moonlight, and I’d strip her bare.  I’d whisper naughty things to her, but I’d tell her not to say a word.  I would wait until her body was wet and hot and ready to explode around mine and when I asked her to speak, she would part those sweet lips and she’d speak Willow’s words to me.  And when I looked down into her face, blindfolded as she moaned my name, I’d see her beauty, but I’d hear Willow.

My Thoughts:
Teaching Willow Session Two picks up and carries on with the deception, lies and all consuming lust from the first book. Willow has dug herself in deep, but with the intense connection she shares with Ebon, you can’t really blame the girl. Well, you can, but you’ll be so distracted with the scenes that are so HOT they-will-incinerate-your-panties! These two write down their fantasies and then act them out making both Ebon and Willow panting, squirming messes before they even actually touch each other (I was a panting, squirming mess as well!)! Whoa!

If you haven’t read Session One, STOP HERE, because there are spoilers for the first book (my review) here on out.

We pick up where we left off with Willow still carrying on as Sage, her sister so she can have a relationship with her professor Ebon. Ebon thinks he never really saw the real Sage, and is falling hard for this new, more open and deep version. Little does he know!  While Willow is over the moon at finally getting to be with Ebon, a man she fell in love with and longed for from afar, she feels a hurt knowing that he isn’t really with her as Willow.  Still, she’s addicted and can’t give him or the lies up.

I was worried going into this that the dread of the situation would overwhelm me, but as I stated before you will be completely distracted. Still, I wished that Willow would stop this charade, because you know the shit will hit the fan at some point.  I wanted more of Willow’s back story in the first story and we did get a little, but I still wanted a bit more.  It was surprising to me to find Ebon has a few demons in his closet as well, but we had very little info, and I’d like more revealed about both Willow and Ebon.

I was a little disappointed that, again, Ebon doesn’t seem to clue in at all, but the way things end I can’t see (at least I hope not!) how this deception will last. The ending is a game changer which was nice because I wanted more plot progression with this installment.

Like the last installment this will literally take you no more than an hour and a half to read through. The time just flew by as I read this because it was that addictive! Can’t wait to see how things play out.

Review: Teaching Willow Session One by Paige James

Teaching Willow: Session One

Publication Date: March 25th 2014

About the book:

My name is Willow Masters. I’m a senior in college, I’m smart and I keep to myself. I haven’t had an “incident” in years. What all of these facts have in common is that none of them made any difference when it came to Ebon Daniels.

He started out as my sister’s date. I was instantly infatuated, but had no plans to do anything about it. I even managed to keep my feelings hidden when he took over my Modernist Literature class for the semester. The problems didn’t start until my sister took pages from my book—literal pages from a book I was writing—and gave them to the one person never intended to see them. That’s when the lies started. That’s also when I saw an opportunity to make my only dream become a reality.

So I took it.

And nothing will ever be the same again.
How could one lie spark a wildfire that burned down everything in its path? How could it get me all I ever wanted and then cost me everything that ever mattered?
It doesn’t seem possible, but it is. It’s possible, it’s true and it’s tragic. In my book, there is a happy ending, but I don’t know if my life will have the same outcome.
My name is Willow Masters and this is the story of how falling in love with my teacher nearly destroyed both of our lives.

And how it still might.

My Thoughts:
Teaching Willow Session One was one hot novella!  Physical attraction can stir up strong feelings, but combine that with being attracted by the mind too, and the result can be all-consuming and overwhelming.

This is exactly what has happened to Willow and Ebon. Unfortunately Ebon is off limits for two reason: he’s Willow’s college professor and her twin sister’s boyfriend!  Agh!!!  Right there my stomach was twisting around from the messiness of it all.  I do not like love triangles AT ALL!  Yet, I couldn’t stop reading!

We get Ebon’s POV as well, and he’s a goner over Willow too, even though she has no idea.  He’s more attracted to her than he ever was to her sister, Sage, but he didn’t know that going in.

Willow is so different from Sage. Sage dresses provocatively, and wears makeup; she's gorgeous, but he was only attracted to her physical appearance and not much else. Willow appears sweet and innocent on the outside, without a stitch of makeup and always conservatively dressed, but he now knows from her writings that there is a passionate, intense woman underneath. And he wants!

"In my defense, it’s not just Willow’s body that I want. It’s everything about her. I want to consume her. Mind, body, and soul. And the more I’m around her, the worse it gets."

It’s hard to say much without being spoilery, but Willow makes some bad choices to get what she wants, what she thinks she could never have otherwise. Ebon can’t help himself and makes unwise decisions as well.  And oh boy, I have an impending sense of dread! I just hope this all works out.

There’s some mystery hinted at with Willow’s past that I’m anxious to find out, and I NEED to find out what happens with these two next.  Paige James did an excellent job hooking and reeling me in!

This novella literally takes no more than an hour and half to finish.  I don’t know the page count, but it shows real writing talent that Ms. James engaged me so completely in such a short amount of time.
