Sunday Post #76

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

I was off this week and had a busy one. Not looking forward to going back to work, but it is what it is.
I'm thinking of switching to the commenting platform Disqus. I get so nervous when I do anything different/new with the blog because I'm afraid something will go wrong that I can't fix.  If you see Disqus on here you'll know I got the courage up to change!

Loved all the books I read this last week. The Reckless Oath We Made was original, compelling with an unusual romance that I ended up loving. The narration was excellent! The Cowboy Meets His Match was another win and I can't wait for the next one after reading the teaser at the end. This is How I Lied was a twisty mystery with a nice surprise twist at the end. Sweep of the Blade was a re-read and I loved it all over again the second time around!

  1. It is hard to go back to work after being off. I always hate that. :) And good luck with the switch to Disqus if you make the change. I've thought about it also...

This Is How I Lied sounds pretty good. I like twisty books. and a cattle ranch doesn't sound half bad. :)

  2. We are finally allowed to go back to work. But it is going to be a hard change, given how comfortable these work from home has become for our lazy butts.

  3. I visit a lot of blogs that use Disqus but I know what you mean about the worry around changing anything. I'm the same, Rachel. 😉
Being off work and having my family with me, has been wonderful. I understand your reluctance to return to work.
    Take care. 💜

  4. Rachel, I hope the return to work goes okay for you - I have had a week off, too, as it was the school's half-term break here in the UK; so I will also be 'back' to work tomorrow, although only physically back for one day. Great to hear you enjoyed all the books you read this week, including a re-read. I re-read the stunning Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier last week, too. Take care and happy reading! 🙂

  7. The Cowboy Meets His Match was one I was looking at. I always feel that I don't read enough cowboy romances. Glad it was a winner for you, and that you had a great reading week in general. Good luck getting back into the swing of things at work. It's always such a struggle to return to the grind.

  9. If you do decide to switch to Disqus as your commenting platform you won't see any more comments from me :( Because I really don't like Disqus. But I'll still visit your awesome blog!!! Hope you have a great weekend. :)

  10. You got lots of great reads! I like the blogs which use Disqus because it emails me the replies which the regular Blogger ones don't.

    Stay safe and well!

  11. Nice haul. If you switch be sure you backup comments to blogger as well or you could lose them all if you switch back. I got mine back when I moved to self-hosting and left Discus, but they all appeared on one or two posts. It was strange.

  12. I have't changed much on my blog in the 15 years that I've had it for that reason. I don't want to mess things up.

  13. Tough getting back into the groove. I know what you mean about working up to a change.
I got the latest Mary Balogh, too. I am so bad. I still need to read Sweep of the Blade for the first time. :)

    Have a good week, Rachel.

  14. I have been thinking about making the change to Disqus as well. I really just don't want to mess anything up! I do know that some of my followers don't care for it when makes me hesitate as well. I loved the audiobook of The Reckless Oath We Made! You are right that it is a very unusual romance. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  18. I am struggling with Maggie right now from This is How I Lied. I don't now why, if it is her or the writing style. I am still reading the book though, and I find Eve and Nola's chapters far more interesting.

  19. That was quite the productive reading week!
I returned to work for the first time in two months, only to be shut down again from the protests! Here's hoping things are more normal this week.

  20. I rarely do much tinkering on the blog because I feel *so* unqualified. Good luck with the Disqus switch! I'm so happy that you enjoyed The Reckless Oath We Made! It made such an impact on me and I found myself thinking about it long after I finished it. And I am very excited for Well Played!

  22. I'm not tech savvy, so I always worry about changing anything on the blog too! I'm glad you had such a great reading week Rachel, and it looks like you got so many awesome new books to look forward too :) I need to check out Heartland!

  23. I kind of dislike Disqus because they were switching something last year and deleted my login somehow. After that I keep getting stuck in trying to log in and mixing up my accounts.. And it's such a frustration.
