Sunday Post #79

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

So we finished our update on the bookshelves. Here's the before (natural stain) and the after (white paint). I think it brightened up the room.  I cut down on a few book so it's not as crowded and I'm happy with the results. Probably should do another clean out of books, but I'll put that off for now, lol.

All really good except for The Girl From Widow Hills which was a disappointment for me. Of course, Fire Touched was my favorite. Hard to beat Mercy Thompson (my 3rd time through).

  1. Oh yes, Rachel the bookcases look fab in white: really fresh and bright 👌 It has been a hot week here and I was back to work almost full time, so a little less reading, but good to be back. Take care and happy reading for the coming week! 😃

  2. Love the bookcase re-do, Rachel! What a difference it makes! Really gorgeous. I keep looking at More Than Maybe but I'm still on the fence about it. If I'm that unsure if I want to read it, I probably already have my answer. LOL

  3. It's amazing what a dramatic difference a little paint makes. I love natural wood, but think the white really pops in your space. More Than Maybe is on my TBR for next week. I am very excited, because I loved Hahn's last book so much. Hope it's a hit for the both of us

  5. I love your updated shelves! My favorite bookshelf (when I had a lot of shelves!) was a white one. They do brighten up the space.

Now I am in a very small space, with only one shelf that I am filling slowly.

Your books look good. I also received The Girl from Widow Hills. Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

    1. I know, I didn't totally mind them the way they were, especially looking at the before and after pic, but I wanted a brighter room and I think it worked.

  10. Yes, the update to white paint really looks great especially against the darker paint and they could be all new shelves. Ugh, let's not talk about cleaning out more books from the shelves. :)
Three of four isn't bad on your reading week for books that you loved.

    Have a good week, Rachel!
