Sunday Post #115

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

A very busy week indeed! The hubby and I came up north on Wednesday to watch our grandchildren (5 and 2 yrs old) for a long weekend. It was our daughter's anniversary.  Lots of activity with hardly a minute to spare.  We went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito today (Saturday-see picture below) and had a fun time. It's located right below the Golden Gate Bridge on the Marin County side and is such a beautiful location!

I did manage to get a hike in  while the 5 year old was at Kindergarten and my hubby watched the 2 year old:

Read:

Two audios and an ARC. All three were a hit for me.

Received/Purchased/Library Lend:

Went a little crazy with the ARC downloads but a couple aren't out for a while so it gives me some time to read. I love the cover for Someone to Cherish, Murder Most Fair and The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels.

Watched:

How was your week?

  1. Seeing these pictures reminds me of our first trip to the US when our first destination was San Francisco! I am feeling all nostalgic as we've been locked up in our country for more than a year now...sigh.

    1. I feel really nostalgic about Europe. France especially since Covid, so I understand! I hope you get a trip into the States and I hope I get to travel to some new destinations in Europe. I'm hoping to go to Italy next! :)

  2. I bet a 5 year old and 2 year old can keep you on your toes! It does look like a really lovely area. Hopefully I can make it to California sometime in this lifetime. I hope that you have a great week!

  3. You're the best grandparents to take them to a fun museum and give the kids a nice anniversary break. Glad you got in a hike while it is so pretty in spring.
I got several of those in your haul, too.

    Have a great Easter, Rachel!

    1. We love those kids to bits, even if they do wear us out. It is soooo pretty right now so I felt blessed to get out in nature and to have a hubby to watch our two year old granddaughter while I did it. Thank you, Sophia! You too!

  4. Great photos! We went to SF with our Girl Scouts in 2010 and stayed in a big house somewhere just west of Ghiradelli Square where we walked at night for dessert. We walked across the Golden Gate Bridge and also went to Muir Woods. We did a service project with a troop in SF prepping food and feeding people at a homeless shelter in downtown. We also rode cable cars and went to the museum, went to a tactile museum, went out to Alcatraz and ate Dim Sum. I lost over 10 pounds with all the walking we did and it was fun.

Yes Mine to Possess was my favorite so far! I love the overall Psy story arc. I'm reading Hostage to Pleasure now, just started.

    Happy Easter Rachel!

    1. That sounds like an awesome trip, Anne! San Francisco is such a special place! So different and historic. We walked across the Golden Gate Bridge one year into Sausalito and had lunch. A year before Covid (?) and it was a neat experience. My daughter lived in SF for six months before moving to East Bay and so we traipsed around the city quite a bit then, but we never got to Alcatraz. We still want to go.

I need to reserve the next Psy-Changeling story for our read-along!
