Sunday Post #138

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

My husband finished the backsplash last week, so I finally I have my before and after photos of my kitchen remodel! There are a few things we still need to do like the overhead light. We'll remove the dated plastic cover over fluorescents and replace with can lightening and the side of the bar will get some wood trim accents, but mostly it's done and I love it!

We also replaced our windows and sliding glass door, an improvement we didn't plan on doing, but made such a big difference!

Now, onto books!

All three were big wins. Both The Santa Suit and Rancher's Christmas Storm were novella length and quick reads. Beneath Devil's Bridge was hard to put down!

I'm eager for both!

  15. Wow your kitchen is stunning! Did your husband do all of the renovation himself? I'm really looking forward to the new Simone St. James, eagerly waiting for my netgalley request to be approved!

    1. He did everything except for the removal of tile, the quartz fabrication and installation. Out of all the costs, the fabrication was the most expensive thing in the kitchen. My husband wanted to hire someone to do the backsplash tile but we couldn't get anyone to commit. He's really handy so he looked up a YouTube video and did it himself. We had already purchased the material and laid it out.

Hope you get your approval soon!

  16. Thanks for sharing the kitchen photos! I especially like the new countertop. We are going from white to wood, so the opposite there. But with better placement and pullouts. Love the new appliances too.

I'm a fan of Loreth Anne White also.

    2. Yeah, we've had the wood for the last 21 years so I wanted a change and a brighter space. I'd love to see how yours turns out, too, Anne! It's a big project but the kitchen is such an important and well used space, so worth the effort.

      She's so good, right?
