Sunday Post #182

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

So happy to be at home this weekend! I've been doing well with my exercise and pretty good with my eating this week. The weather has been gorgeous! The trees are really changing colors out here and it's so pretty! We've had a few cold days and we've had our wood burning stove running quite a bit. Very cozy. Today it warmed up a little from the previous days getting to 68 degrees we sat outside to eat our lunch.
We've had a lot of construction on the house this week, taking out a wall between the kitchen/dining/living room and adding a big support beam. Today I stained that support beam and I'm bushed. I like the way it turned out.

Still not able to manage more than three books but I felt like I got through a lot. Archangel's Resurrection was kind of a long book. I'm a good ways through a couple of other books.

  1. Yes! I am loving the cooler temps and color changes as well. That's a beautiful picture. I bet you cannot wait until you can just sit back and admire all the hard work you have been doing on the house. Sounds like it is really coming along.

  5. Oooh a wood burning stove sounds so neat. Love the Autumn colors, its my favorite time of year. I agree about Archangel Resurrection, its a LONG one or it feels like it, its an epic romance so it definitely takes a bit longer to get through. It took me most of the day reading to get through it but I still loved it so I hope you enjoyed the reading of it. Love seeing a RaeAnne Thayne on your list there.

    1. I loved it Renee! Last night while I was writing this up we had QUITE the night (not sure I want to detail the disaster but maybe I'll expound in next weeks SP) so I guess I didn't make that clear. It was a long book, though especially because I didn't want to speed through and miss details. Love RaeAnne Thanye!

    1. It is a pain, but we have a wonderful contractor so it's not as bad as it could be.

  7. It's great you are enjoying your new home. I love the planning stage and the results but hate the actual process of home improvements, unless I can work on it myself. I can control my efforts/schedule, other people not so much. Happy Halloween!

    1. Yes, the actual process is not fun. I can't wait until it's done. Happy Halloween to you too, Anne. I forgot all about it with all the events over the last few days. :/

  8. Looks like you're getting nice colors there! It's been what they call peak autumn around here I guess ha ha. All the trees are yellow and there are some reds too. The wood stove sounds cozy.

    Hope you're having a great weekend :)

  9. I'm jealous of your wood-burning stove. Right now our furnace is on the fritz. Luckily it's getting taken care of, but it's downright cold in our place. I hope you have another nice week!

    1. I hope they get it fixed for you quickly! Yes, if you had the wood burning stove you'd have some heat from that. You, too, Jenni!

  10. Oh wow, taking down a wall definitely qualifies as a lot of construction! I really need to do better with my eating. My husband eats like a 5 year old which makes it hard to find healthy meals we both will eat. I hope that you have a great week!

  11. Gorgeous colors in your yard and yay for having a good week with your health goals. Wow, nice job on the big home projected, too.

I got that latest Jayne Ann Krentz, too.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

  14. Sounds like you had a good week! I’m jealous of the weather being cool enough to eat outside comfortably. How nice! And changing colors… not something I get to experience in Florida. Lol It’s supposed to be 85 here today which is kind of lame, but I’m just going to be happy that it’s not 95. 😊
