Sunday Post #223

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

I'm currently in the Texas Hill Country, in a suburb of Austin visiting with my daughter, grandkids and SIL We flew out Thursday and are flying back tomorrow (Sunday). We've had a good time, visited as a "special person" at the kid's school. They had a visit day where we toured their art, music and PE class and got a slice of their day at school for each of them. The school was new and beautiful and it seemed like a good place to learn.

It's been hot here, but I guess 10-15 degrees cooler than the week before. We'll be coming home to 70-75 degree weather at home where fall is in full swing.

Some hydrangeas from the garden I cut to hang up and dry.

Had a lot going on with work and then preparing for our trip to Austin so all I managed was two book. Both a win!

  2. Yes, we returned home to hot Texas from delightfully cool Italy, and we are dreaming of fall. I do love Austin. Don't forget that the Texas Book Festival will be in Austin in November.

I need to see what you thought of Book Club Hotel, I think. Off to take a look...

  7. You visit a lot. I would be tempted to wait for cooler months. Busy week for you with work and traveling but great to see family. I hope this week will be more relaxing. Can't believe it's the end of September.

    1. Yes. We end up seeing them often despite them being in Austin. I'm thankful that it works out. It was warm, but not as bad as it was in August! We basically stayed in doors that time. It'll be nice to visit when we have snow and power outages (if they happen again here) in the winter. I hope to get some down time, but I'm working an extra day this week. I can't believe it's the end of September either!

  15. Yeah Texas is still pretty hot this time of year. But then they never really get a winter. Sounds like you had a nice visit though. I am really looking forward to that RaeAnne Thayne. I can't wait to see what you think of that one.

  16. Those hydrangeas are gonna make a great decoration. I had a bush, but it didn't make it. I've read a Tee O'Fallon story and too and loved them. Hope you had a good visit. It has cooled down here too and I am so happy about it. I used to love summertime, but it was too darn hot this year. Right now, it's beautiful outside and the hummingbirds are humming around the feeder. They are always so much fun to watch.
