Sunday Post #247

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

I didn't blog much this last week, just a giveaway and one review because I've been busy with work and so much yard cleanup and gardening! Thank goodness for audiobooks otherwise I wouldn't have got through any books! It really makes chores more pleasurable! It's been a lot of work and I'm tired! The weather has been beautiful with highs in the mid 70s.

Hope to get my roses in the ground tomorrow after we figure out the best location for sun exposure. I thought I had it nailed down, but since the oak trees have been getting the leaves back there's more shade in the area I had originally picked out.

Tiny frog on a lilac leaf in our garden. So cute!

Pretty pond & vineyard (background) in the neighborhood

Thought this multi-colored specimen was pretty. I mostly see just yellow in the neighborhood.
Common Broom

I've done a few puzzles. Of course with help:

Peanut directing placement of pieces

Finished puzzle

My sister and her husband are coming over for an early dinner tomorrow. We're making marinated chicken and shrimp skewers with Tzatziki sauce, pita bread, and rice.

  3. We are doing a puzzle — the first in years and years. I’m glad we don’t have a cat. Your photo is amazing.

  5. The frog in the leaf is so cute! My cats like to "help" with puzzles too... My felt puzzle mat is a frequently lint rollered item!

  6. I love the pic of the frog in the leaf:)). You truly live in a beautiful part of the world... We should be out in our garden dealing with the overgrown plants and weeds that haven't been touched in 3 years. Maybe next week - in the meantime, have a lovely week, Rachel.

  7. I didn't blog a lot either because of work! Gardening will have to wait because of the rain!

    1. Thanks, Lisa! I thought the frog was so cute. I've seen other tiny frogs (they can make so much noise), but usually they're grayish-black. Haven't seen a green one cozied up on a leaf before! I had fun in our chat!

  9. I've done that House & Garden cover puzzle, too. It's perfect for this time of year!

    1. It's a fun one! I'm enjoying the 500 piece puzzles a little more than the 1000 piece ones lately.

  10. Great photos! It's a nice area to work in the yard. I keep a sun/shade map of the yard varying it at the different hours of the day, but different seasons also change. Looking forward to the WTZ chat!

  11. Sounds like a hard workout getting your yard prepped for your roses. Cutie froggie. LOL, I get that very same sort of help when I do my puzzles. Looks like you're getting caught up on the Jennifer Ashley series.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

    1. Peanut loves to sit himself right in the middle of the puzzle while I'm working it! Heaven forbid I'm not paying 100% of my attention on him! What would we do without our sweet little helpers? I'm loving the Below Stairs mysteries!

  16. I love working puzzles but discovered it's a pain in the butt with my bifocals. I have to hold my head JUST SO.

    The cute froggie!!!

The lovely yard with a pond!

Marinated chicken and shrimp skewers with Tzatziki sauce, pita bread, and rice??? Say less! I'm on my way.

I see White Trash Zombie is still marked as WANT to read on my Goodreads. Why haven't I started that one yet?

Always good to see that cute little Peanut!

    1. Yes, bifocals would make puzzles difficult! I use my readers to work puzzles. It's been a beautiful weather week and everything is still so green! I'm enjoying spring. White Trash Zombie has been such a fun series so far! Only two more books to go. Thanks! I love seeing Marilyn on your posts!

  20. Beautiful pix. Amazing you could see the frog in the leaf. Blends in so well. I hope Peanut didn't try to take any puzzle pieces. It looks like a good one. There will be so much to garden when we get back from this trip. Spring will be full on. Enjoy your garden.

  21. We came back from vacation to find wind and hail damage to our house. My yard is still a mess as we deal with contractors and insurance to get things fixed.
