Sunday Post #280

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

Happy Sunday! Nothing too exciting here. Been binging through Downtown Abby, so my reading has taken a hit.

We've still had higher than normal temps for here in the 50s, but it's been cold at night in the 20s! It still feels cold even during the day. On one of my walks I saw what looked like a dog the size of a border collie, but ended up being a bobcat! It had something in it's mouth. A rabbit or squirrel, I think.

Bobcat in the middle. I know, hard to see.

First full moon "Wolf Moon" of the year

Saturday I planted a bunch of seedlings (tomatoes, basil, green onions and zinnias) indoors and have them set up with a grow light. I'll be starting more next weekend.
We tried a new (to us) dinner place downtown with my sister and her husband. The place was established in 1852! The food was good, but pricy.

The cats are doing well, but Peanut is not pleased with Smokey and Starla. Still, he hasn't been trying to run them off as much, so I count that as a point in the plus column.

On the Edge by Ilona Andrews
Dark Hope by Christine Feehan

On the Edge was a re-read for the read-along hosted by Anne @Books of My Heart. Loved it all over again. I posted my original review from 2013 yesterday. I cringe reading it! Do you cringe reading your old reviews? I'm going to update it after posting this.

  3. Oh my gosh a bobcat! That's crazy! I would have freaked, but also, wanted to pet it. I have a problem. Enjoy She Doesn't Have a Clue. I thought it was quirky and cute.

    1. Yep, I was a little freaked too! Glad it wasn't too close. Nice to hear you enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to it.

    1. Yes, it was fun, but I was happy he/she was a good distance away!

  5. I love that you can eat at a place that is over a century old. That is great! The moon was very captivating. Soon, the planets will be lined up too. Some neat astro stuff going on if you can take the cold. I am curious about She Doesn't Have a Clue. It looks fun.

    1. I know, it's neat that the town has some historic spots! I hope She Doesn't Have a Clue is good. I'm see some good reviews. We'll see. :)

  6. Oh wow! I would have never thought a bobcat would be out in the open like that, but neat you got to see it. Neat you ate at such a long running restaurant and got in some good puzzle time with your kitty supervisor.
I found On the Edge rated the same for me, too. LOL, yes, my oldest reviews are pretty different and ponderous.

    1. Yeah, we get a lot of wildlife! Yes, my kitty supervisor loves to be "helpful" with the pieces, too, lol! Ugh! I was going to let it stand the way it was, but I just couldn't do it, lol!

  7. My sister claims to have seen a bobcat one time at her house near me, but I never had. I'm glad that you were able to get a photo.

Good luck with your seedlings. I've never tried that. It is probable that this freeze this week will kill off our tomatoes and peppers from our fall garden. But that's okay. It will clear the way to get ready for spring.

    1. It was a lot closer, but I was so shocked it too me a minute to fish out my phone to snap a photo. Our tomatoes and peppers have been done for a while. One nice thing about Texas is you get a longer growing season!

  8. Bobcats and coyotes are pretty common here, but still unnerving to see them. I like the Wysocki puzzle... makes me want to start the Jane Austen puzzle I got for Christmas this week.

    1. Yes, we get the coyotes, too. I'm fine as long as they stay away from my cats! I have a Jane Austen puzzle. It was fun! Hope you enjoy working yours!

  9. Wow! A restaurant that was started in 1852. I hope they’ve updated their menu! You’re the second blogger today that I’ve seen with She Hasn’t Got a Clue. It looks really cute. Happy reading!
