I spent a week in Montana and got back home late Wednesday. We had a nice trip enjoying time with family and friends. Getting there was a bit tricky. We flew into Spokane, Washington instead of our normal airport(s) because it was a direct flight. The other three (Missoula, Helena, Bozeman) always have a stop and then an hour to an hour and a half to our destination. So even though it's a 4.5 hour drive to our destination from Spokane it ends up being a shorter time all together. So then, of course, there was an accident that had us sitting on the freeway for 1.5 hours waiting for it all to be cleared. However, the drive from Spokane through Idaho was utterly gorgeous, passing by rivers and wildflowers with everything vividly green. Plus, we were listening to a really good audiobook, so all was good.
The cats really missed us. We have a housesitter who come and stays when were gone but there were issues.

How was your week?
Beautiful flower pictures! Battle of the Bookstores is on my TBR. The one time I went to Montana I flew into Bozeman, because the dinosaur dig I was going on started there with the museum. I'm sure that is a beautiful drive though, although not with traffic! I know it's always nice to be home too. Starla is a cutie, love her helping, it's like how my dogs try to help me, lol. I hope we both love Battle of the Bookstores! I need to look up that museum. We'll be going back in a few weeks and I'm sure my grandkids would enjoy it. I would too! Gotta love those "helpful" animals, haha! You too, Lisa!

ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of it either, especially with the recent accidents I've been seeing. But it would take us so long to drive and we don't have the highspeed trains here like you do in Europe, unfortunately.

DeleteGlad to hear you had a nice trip. I agree the driving is probably easier and you have more control over things, especially if you have to get a car anyway. You're reading some great books! We hate to leave Lulu. I'm thinking about some kind of RV so we could take her with us if we travel a bit.

Yes, and the car rental was a lot cheaper in that airport, too. I hate leaving my cats, too, especially since our house sitter has become less reliable when she stays. I doubt we'll be using her anymore.

DeleteThat wait on the highway seems rough. But I have driven that road from Spokane to Montana -- amazing. The beauty there seems well worth it. Starla is going to lose some puzzle pieces, lol. Glad you finished it with all intact. And your garden and flowers are out in full beauty wow. I will see if my Cosmos match your color there. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteYes, it wasn't what we expected, but better it happened when we got there then when we were traveling back and had to worry about catching our flight home. Yep, I try not to let the cats on my puzzles, but she's been so needy since we got back. I end up crawling around on the floor to find missing pieces all the time. Can't find it and then it shows up a week later when I swear I've covered every inch of the floor, lol! I hope you post some pics of your Cosmos! I hope you enjoy your week, too!
DeleteSorry about the traffic incident, but it's sort of nice to use the time to see some sights. Looks beautiful where you were. Oh, no! The kitties had issues. Boo! Of course they did, they missed you too much.

ReplyDeleteOh no... I hope you kitties were okay while you were gone. When I moved to Seattle from Michigan back in the 90s, we drove that area. It is so amazing. I'm glad you were able to have a good time.
ReplyDeleteI find the direct flights are so much better, too. Bummer about the traffic jam. Fun that you got to see family. Cute with kitty and puzzle. One of mine likes to sprawl among the puzzle pieces, too. Love that fall themed puzzle scene. Woohoo for all around good books this last week.
