Sunday Post #314

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

Happy Sunday!

The weather has been gorgeous and the leaves brilliant here in Northern California! It's been raining off and on today (Saturday) and will continue tomorrow.

We've brought out the heating mats for the barn cats and finally got one where they use it in the garage. They have a cat door into the garage and already go in and out as they please. We have an electronic feeder with dry food in there but we also bring up plates of wet food, too. They really go through the cat food when the temperatures drop!

I've been experimenting with my packing as I'm only taking a carry-on and a duffle (my personal item) for a two and a half week trip to Italy with varying temperatures since I'll be in the North of Italy (Lake Como, Venice and Milan) and in a more temperate areas (Florence and Rome). I think I have it figured out.

Mate (Bride #2) by Ali Hazelwood
The Heartbreak Hotel by Ellen O'Clover
The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy (Dearly Beloathed #1) by Brigitte Knightley

I had a good reading week! Mate had me laughing throughout with Hazelwood's fast, witty humor. The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy was also funny and clever! I had started The Heartbreak Hotel a while back and had to set it aside because it wasn't grabbing me and I was having trouble with the female main lead, but I picked up again and gave it a chance. It picked up and I ended up pleasantly surprised!

  1. Packing light really rewards the traveler! I have carry-on luggage that’s just at the upper limit of the airlines’ rules and can go a long time with what’s in one. Have a great time (especially when you sail out of the airport before everyone else and get a cab first).

  2. I just got Blind Date with a Werewolf from the library too.

  5. The puzzle is beautiful and really shows why I love this time of year. I have to know how you did with the 2.5 weeks in carry on luggage??? I hardly had any clean clothing after my 11 day trip and I had a full sized suitcase. I supposed, I could have washed clothes on the ship, but I don't do chores on vacation.
