About the book
Avery has just met her hot upstairs neighbor. He's irresistible. Tattooed. And a virgin.
Nursing student Avery Michaels wants nothing to do with dating—she's perfectly happy single. Privy to too many of her mother's bad decisions and even worse taste in boyfriends, all Avery can handle is a string of uncomplicated hookups whenever the mood strikes.
When she meets smoking hot tattoo artist Bennett, she wants him—for just one night. But he won't accept a no-strings-attached arrangement. He lives by a straight-laced code of values based on his own troubled upbringing.
Bennett sees something special in Avery and he wants more from her. Way more. As Avery wrestles with her emotions for Bennett, danger and tragedy force them to open up to each other. And Avery must face the terrifying realization that she wants more from him, too.
So she needs to make a choice—let Bennett go or finally let him in.
Excerpt!
We pushed our way to the middle of the writhing bodies and I started swaying my hips in time to the music. I raised my arms in the air and got lost in the slow and sexy song.A minute later, I felt warm breath stroke my neck and a strong hand brace my stomach. I knew it was him without turning around. Those same long fingers had been splayed against my body all week long. I closed my eyes and savored his skin touching mine.
“I like when you wear your hair down.” He twined his fingers through the ends of my curls and it sent a shiver ricocheting through my body.
“You haven’t come up,” he breathed against my ear.
“I figured it was time to be a big girl and sleep in my own bed,” I said.
“Understood.” He held on to my waist and swayed along with me. His fingers trailed beneath the hem of my shirt and a couple of inches upward. I fought to keep my breaths under control.
“I know this is going to sound crazy,” he whispered. “But I kind of missed you.”
He pulled me flush against him and I sucked in a breath. I felt the hard wall of his chest, the strong and steady thud of his heart at my back. I laced my fingers around his neck and leaned into him.
His fingers blazed a trail along my rib cage and stopped just above my navel. I rocked my hips back and forth in time with the song and he let out a slow groan.
“Jesus, Avery,” he said. Suddenly he pushed away from me. “I need some air.”
He stormed off the dance floor, leaving me speechless and way too aroused.
My thoughts:
Steamy, HOT, buildup, foreplay, beautiful. That's how I would describe All of You in five words. This book has some of the hottest kissing scenes I have ever read and the buildup and frustration between these characters were off the charts! With a slight twist in the story All of You finally brings something a little different to the NA genre that I have been waiting for.
I won't lie the beginning is a little tough to get into at least for me it was. Avery isn't immediately likeable and while I can respect her decisions I wasn't liking how over confidant she was. In the first few pages she really comes across horribly and I loved that Bennett ignored her that first meeting. She needed to come down to reality and realize that not every guy wants her and when she does realize this is when I started liking her and looking more into her character. Avery is not perfect and she has a really messed up life so I get why she is the way she is and I loved watching Bennett break down her walls. The story took off for me about halfway through when we finally get to see what makes Avery and Bennett act the way they do. It was heartbreaking to see what they both lived with but at the same time you can't help but feel admiration for both of them for how they got out of a bad situation.
The best thing about this book is the chemistry between Avery and Bennett. I mean WOW! I didn't know non sex scenes could be so hot! In case you are wondering Bennett is a virgin and since Avery likes to sleep around this is an issue for the both of them. They both want each other but Bennett is determined to wait for love and Avery isn't sure if she can give him that part of herself. Reading their scenes was intense and I swear I could feel the tension! I really do think that their first kiss was the hottest I have ever read. It was delicious, toe curling, and made me breathless.
If you are looking for something new in NA then this book is for you. There is a serious storyline amidst all the steaminess. It was very heartbreaking, but I didn't feel like it was over drama filled like some NA books I have read lately. Avery and Bennett were definitely enough to hold my attention but the added storyline showed a whole other side of both of them and I appreciated how it was all handled. I will definitely keep my eye out for more books from this author!
