Waves of Sunday #44 Announcement & Giveaway

Welcome to our weekly edition of Waves of Sunday where each Sunday we spotlight a book that has been making waves in the book scene or has simply caught our attention causing a riptide on our TBR.  Two things about this edition of Waves of Sunday are special! 1st: Our resident "guy" will give his thoughts on our spotlight.  I've always wanted to know what a guy would think about a cover like that, so I guess we'll see below! 2nd: This week we are picking our August winner!  After much consideration we've decided to pick Maida's @Literary Love Affair pick on our August 4th WoS suggestion:

Today we are spotlighting:

Operation: Endgame (When the Mission Ends, #1)

Operation: Endgame (When the Mission Ends #1) by Christi Snow
Publication Date: June 12th 2012
Purchase Links: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo

About the book:
It’s been six months.

Six months since Jake Madsen let Chris Robertson die.

Six months since the passion between Jake and Cassie, Chris’ sister, stepped over the line.

But now Cassie’s being stalked and it’s time for Jake to swallow his guilt, grief, and lust so he can save her life, even if it’s a life without him. He owes it to his dead friend and he owes it to Cassie. He’s fallen in love with her, but she doesn’t have to know that for him to keep her safe.

Rachel's Thoughts:
I love a good romance in the midst of action, danger and suspense!  Nothing like fear of death to make your libido go crazy! Although it doesn't really say this in the description, I read a few reviews and Jake and Cassie were childhood friends which obviously turned to more at some point, making it one of my favorite types of romances!  With the addition of that smoking HOT cover, I now know how I can picture Jake as I read the story, which is always a bonus for me! *wink*  Now, I don't know how that visual will impact our guy, positively or negatively, but I'm anxiously awaiting his thoughts. Lol!

AGP's Thoughts:
Wow, what a short blurb. I had to read it 2 or 3 times to finally decide it was the perfect length, and provided just the amount of detail to spark my interest. (I hate when too much is revealed in the description or in reviews!). After reading an additional (spoiler free) review, it sounds like an action packed, on the edge of your seat story with some romance prospects, not a romance that has a story thrown in. Definitely what a guy wants to see! I think this just my make my short list!

What usually draws my initial interest in a book is the cover. Usually the hot, scantily clad female (preferably redhead) can draw my attention away from shirtless "dude" on the cover. But not so with this one, as you can tell. This particular cover gives me mixed feelings. Normally I'm a bit shy and don't like a lot of publicity, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw my picture splashed across the cover of Operation End Game! I didn't give my permission, nor was I reimbursed for its use! I'm trying to decide if I'm ok with it, or what I should do about it. Ladies, I'd like your detailed suggestions as to what you would have me do about it...

Rachel's Rebuttal:
That's EXACTLY what he looks like ladies! *rolls eyes* Just ask Arlene and Crystal! Ha Ha!
