Sunday Post #6

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

I've been trying to get back to exercising and eating better.  The high summer temps (110 degrees +!) put a damper on my running, but now that the weather has finally cooled off I'm excited to get back to it.  It's a challenge getting exercise in with it getting dark so early now, but I'm determined.

Read:

I had a great reading week binging on The Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh, I'm all caught up with the Elena/Raphael books.  The series has been wonderful and thrilling!  The last book had a cliffhanger so I'm eagerly awaiting the next release! I have a giveaway running for the newest: Archangel's Prophecy, if you're interested.

Purchased/Received/Library Lend:

RaeAnne Thayne's romances are always sweet, feel-good reads so I'm excited to read A Soldier's Return.  I'm a long-time fan of Roni Loren, she's a phenomenal writer, so of course I grabbed up The One You Fight For.  After reading Kimberly's  @Caffeinated Reviewer awesome review of Ice, I knew I had to read it.  I bought an e-copy and audio version to switch back and forth. My heart went out to Avery in Half Empty, so I'm happy to get her story in Chasing Shadows!

Watched:

I wanted a great suspense thriller and I ended up with these two movies.  Arrival wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't what I was looking for and it actually made me cry.  Hush was suspenseful and kept me on the edge of my seat, but man, the heroine had quite a few TSTL moments!!

Anyhow, that was my week.  How was yours?

  1. I liked Arrival but it wasn't what I was expecting either, it was a more introspective kind of movie, which I actually kind of liked. And that ending! Very emotional. And I hate those TSTL moments when the heroine doesn't do smart things haha! Like, really people??

    Ice looks pretty awesome.

  3. I've enjoyed some RaeAnne Thayne books, and some by Lauren Carr. I need to catch up on both authors.

I'm curious about Hush. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  6. I'm looking forward to going on long walks again now that the weather has cooled here. It's way too hot in the summer and I usually swim for exercise then. I haven't watched Arrival but I thought Hush was good.

  7. I am reading book 2 and 3 in Loren's series next week. I am a fan, and can't wait to catch back up. I liked the story Bybee gave to Avery. I loved Liam, the hero, so much. My only complaint was that I wanted them on page more together.

  12. Look at all those wonderful wings. Love books about angels. I tried book 1 of The Guild Hunter but it was a DNF. Nalini Singh style wasn't for me, which really means nothing because I change my tastes all the time.So happy to hear you found it wonderful and thrilling. Makes me want to try it again so badly.

    1. If your reading tastes change often it might be worth it to give her another shot. :)

  13. I really need to do better with exercise. I walk the dogs every day but they don't walk fast so it really isn't much exercise for me. Glad you enjoyed your Guild Hunter binge. That is a series that I really want to start soon.

    1. Anything is better than nothing! I think we all feel we need to do better with exercise, but at least we're trying. Hope you like Guild Hunter if you get to it. :)

    1. It's very introspective rather than being an alien action movie. Bring tissues if you watch it.
