Sunday Post #275

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

I'm in Austin, Texas right now babysitting my two grandkids while my daughter and SIL are off for the weekend. It's been busy but fun. It's also been raining! It poured here yesterday (Saturday), but thankfully leveled down to a drizzle by the time I took the kids out. Went to Barnes & Noble and bought toys and books, went to lunch and then went and saw Moana 2.
Stayed up late watching True Spirit, the story of Australian teenager, Jessica Watson, the youngest person ever to sail solo nonstop around the world. It was inspirational and a little suspenseful!

Austin, Texas this morning. Cloudy and not as rainy as yesterday.

  2. Have fun with your grandchildren. It;s always a blast when we can visit ours. We are in Florida and the kiddos are in Nebraska so it isn't often enough.
I like your blog header - beautiful.

    1. Nice to hear you loved it as well, Lisa! Yeah, I probably won't give it a full review here. I did jot down a few thoughts on Goodreads, though. Hope you do, too, Lisa!

  4. Yay watching the grankids. I wonder if I could get my kid to watch Moana. She has never been to the cinema

    1. Oh, wow! Well, nowadays watching on your home TV is a great way to watch it, too. I'd rather do it that way to be honest. The movie theatre is so expensive! Not only the tickets, the snacks and drinks are highway robbery!

  5. We just watched the first Moana yesterday. It's my g-granddaughter's favorite.

Austin is a great place to visit. Traffic's awful now, though. Hope you don't have to put up with too much of that.

    1. I liked the first one, too. The chicken is my favorite character. So funny! They live in a suburb of Austin, but there's a lot of traffic there, too!

  9. Sweet of you to watch the kids so their folks could have some couple time plus bonus- grandkid time. :)

You got through a good stack of books this week. And, ooo, you scored the next Orphan X.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

  10. It has been a rainy weekend here in the Houston area too! I've been on a bit of an unplanned hiatus with the business of Thanksgiving and Christmas preparations, but now I'm back to blogging again.

    1. I think I'll be blogging sporadically, too, over the holidays. I haven't been posting that much the last couple of weeks either because we've been busy with family and trips and it'll continue like that until after New Year's. Busy times! Happy to see you back, Ethan! I'll swing by to see what you're up to. :)

  14. Are you back from Austin? Sounds like a wet but good trip. I like the female sailing movies too -- it seems I've watched a few. There's also one called Maiden and another new documentary called The Loneliest Race about Kirsten Neuschäfer - Wow, it's good! I think I've seen True Spirit but I will take a look to make sure. Hope your week is good.
