The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday! My week is out of whack getting back from Texas late Monday has made all my days feel off. Also, I caught a cold from my grandson and ended up calling in sick on Friday. I don't feel good.
Today (Saturday) I finally finished a review copy that felt like a chore to read. The book was just over 300 pages but just dragged on for me. I'm supposed to be starting another romance, but I started it and just couldn't get into it. I'm setting it aside for now. I started one puzzle, sorted all the edge piece and then was annoyed by how easily the pieces come apart so I disassembled and started another. I finally landed on a book that's keeping my interest: Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper. Not a review book, but I don't care. I hadn't been in the greatest mood, but finally settling into a book and puzzle I like has lifted my spirits a bit. Now if I could get over this darn cold! I'll just be guzzling Day and NyQuil until then.

How was your week?
Being sick makes me grumpy too, I hope you are feeling much better today.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful reading week
Yes! It does make little things annoying. Thank you!
DeleteI'm sorry you are not feeling well. Hope Day and NyQuil do their best for you.
ReplyDeleteI hate reading something I feel like I have to read but I'm not enjoying.
I hope whatever ails you passes quickly, but you are doing the right things. When not feeling well, you shouldn't force yourself to do things that are increasing your misery. *If I don't like a book, I DNF and let it go.
ReplyDeleteI have a cold as well. I know your pain! Hopefully you get better soon!
ReplyDeleteOoo The Lost House looks good!! I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you feel better very soon. It's hard to get on with things when one doesn't feel very good. Well the things you are finishing look like great reads to me.

I'm sorry you caught cold; kids can be so generous when it comes to their germs. And I'm so glad you're liking the Ellie Jordan book. I think they're very fun, and very good for when you don't feel like reading anything else. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHope you get over that cold soon. It's rainy and cold here too so we try to stay inside more. Have a better week!
ReplyDeleteA 300 page review book that drags is one I usually will go ahead and DNF. Especially because it makes it hard to sometimes get into the next review book! I hope you're getting back to feeling better this week.

ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
So sorry you are sick, Rachel. :( It's always tough when a review book is a chore to get through. But I almost always feel obligated to push through an arc I received for review. Hope you feel better quickly!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to feeling better soon! It's tough to read a book you are not enjoying. Your upcoming books look good. I hope they are more satisfying.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. Good to hear you finally found a book you liked and a puzzle to go with.
ReplyDeleteYeah a yucky week for you. Bummer. I'm having empathy head colds with you right now. And, you're right, books are having to battle up hill to keep my attention at the moment.
ReplyDeleteFeel better, Rachel!
