About the book
Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Arlene's Thoughts
“I think if past lives are real then we have been lovers in every single one of them. I've known you for a short time, but I feel like I've known you forever.”

The Edge of Never is a powerfully romantic story filled with heart rending moments and off the charts chemistry. This is the type of book that makes me an avid reader. Seriously! I find myself in constant search of that next fictional journey that will not only move me, but stay on my mind for days. So when I pound through book after book and finally come across something like this… I’m rendered speechless. In this case for over a week. That’s how long it finally took me to sit down and put to words what I feel about this story.

In The Edge of Never, we have the privilege of meeting twenty year old Camryn who sets off on a road trip as a means of finding some perspective in her frazzled life. In less than two short years, she’s suffered the death of her boyfriend, witnessed the arrest of her brother and felt the heart break of her parent’s divorce. After a night out with her best friend that leads to misunderstandings and all around disappointment, she packs her bags and sets off on a road trip with no certain destination in mind. While on this journey of self discovery, she meets Andrew Parrish who is on his way to visit his dying father. These two slowly become friends, which leads to a connection they never bargained for or expected.

The Edge of Never had everything I simply adore in a contemporary novel, including road trips, moments of self discovery, characters with chemistry, as well as a little bit of heart break and a whole lot of hope for something good to come.

Like I mentioned before, Cam and Andrew are filled to the brim with chemistry, but most importantly, these two characters felt truly real. Their story seemed to lift from the ePages of my reader and attach itself to my heart. I simply loved these two as a couple, and I adored them as individuals as well. There was a ton of truth and honesty wrapped around a pound of flawed between Andrew and Camryn. I think it was their flaws and dents they exposed along the way that added that certain sense of realism I felt with these two.

As far as the narrative, it encompassed my favorite type of flow. With this book we got alternating POVs between Andrew and Cam, which was the perfect narration to bring their story to life. When the perspective changed for the first time in the book, it was like an electric charge, and as the story continued with them handing the stage back and forth to each other it felt like the right rhythm for their flawed-to-perfection story.

On a final note, I’ll offer a true fact about myself. I’m not a book crier. I mean to prove my point, I even have a shelf dedicated to the small amount of books that have brought me to tears. So, I just have to say that there was a moment that was so unexpected that if it wasn’t for the shock I was experiencing at the time, I swear I would have been bawling like a baby! I felt that tightening in my jaw, the smarting in my eyes, but I was going through some serious shock, denial, hurt and despair all in a matter of moments that for a non-crier like me, if it wasn’t for that myriad of emotions I was experiencing all at once, this would have been one ugly face crying moment. ~casualty averted… thank goodness~

If I could recommend any book right now, The Edge of Never would be at the top of my list. This story has managed to stay on my mind days after finishing it, and it’s books such as this story that refuse to leave my imagination and heart and prove to me once again there are magical moments in fiction.

“I run behind her, letting her stay a few steps ahead of me so if she happens to fall I’ll be there to laugh at her first and then help her up afterwards.”

Brandie's Thoughts
Wow. I'm speechless. One of the best books I've ever read. Incredible and emotional. I'm going to attempt to put into words how amazing it was.

Camryn is a 20 year old who's been through her fair share of tragedies and let downs. She knows she wants more from life then working at a department store and living at home. After a fight with her best friend and needing to get away - she hops on a bus across the country with no particular place in mind - just anywhere but here.

As she's on this trip of self-discovery, she meets Andrew Parrish, who's on his way to Wyoming to see his dying father. Andrew is sexy, protective, charming, and amazing. He manages to squeeze through some of Cam's defenses and they become fast friends. But there are more feelings between them that both of them stubbornly fight. Cam is adamant she won't fall in love again and Andrew has his reasons for keeping what they share strictly friendship. But the longer they spend together and more they connect - it becomes impossible for them to fight how they really feel. They share moments that absolutely melted my heart and Andrew showed Cam how to really live life and not be afraid to speak her mind or be her true self. The beauty he sees in her and way he takes care of her - it's all sorts of swoon worthy!

The slow build up of their love while they journey across the country together is so incredible. I loved every single minute. I felt like I was addicted to their story and couldn't stop reading.

Such a beautiful and emotional ride - I don't cry often reading books but this book had me sobbing. It broke my heart into pieces but then everything came together for the most perfect ending.

I can't stress enough how much I recommend this incredible book. It touched me so deeply and I can't stop thinking about it. A truly beautiful story I won't soon forget.

I've also downloaded The Civil Wars thanks to this book!

About the Author

Author of THE DARKWOODS TRILOGY and DIRTY EDEN, mother, werewolf & zombie fanatic, book addict and a happy hermit obsessed with the Universe. Oh, and AMC’s “The Walking Dead”.

Addictions: Starbucks every morning, trolling Barnes & Noble’s shelves once a week, detesting winter, shopping flea markets and preparing for the collapse of society as we know it. Do I own a tin foil hat? Maybe. :-)

I was born in Arkansas and have lived here most of my life, except the couple of times when I lived in Pennsylvania. I started my first novel at the age of thirteen and have been writing something ever since. Generally, I love characters in life and on paper. I pay attention to people, especially those whose personalities make them different from the rest of us: the drug addict roaming the Laundromat that talks to himself, the young, inattentive mother in the park with the meanest kid on the playground – (the entire cast of ‘Swamp People’) – characters fascinate me and I hope that it shows in my literary work.
