Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Wilde for Her (Wilde Security #2) by Tonya Burrows

I loved Tonya Burrows' s Wilde Nights in Paradise (Wilde Security #1) so I was excited to hear we'd be getting another Wilde Security novel!  Wilde for Her is Camden and Eva's story and I loved it! As part of this tour stop I have my review, an exclusive excerpt, as well as a giveaway!

About the book:

Friends with benefits just got hotter.

Former homicide detective Camden Wilde has been in love with his ex-partner, Eva Cardoso, for longer than he cares to admit. Not that it matters. She’s shoved him into the friend zone, and after living through the hell of his parents’ violent deaths, Cam’s unable to give her the idyllic life she secretly desires.

Eva’s never met a person who hasn’t let her down. Cam may be sex personified, but he’s the only man she can trust, and there’s no way she’ll risk their friendship on the off-chance they could be more. Especially not after the one scintillating night she’s trying—and failing—to forget.

When a murder-for-hire contract on his head lands Eva on his doorstep, Cam knows it’s time to put up or shut up. He’s done biding his time, and he’ll be damned if he lets the delectable detective ignore what’s between them, no matter the cost.

My Thoughts:
I loved Wilde for Her! Long-time friends who’ve secretly been longing for each other? Check. Uncontrollable lust and mega-HOT scenes?!! Double check.  A little romantic angst, and a mystery infused with danger? Now we’re talking about everything I love in a romantic suspense novel!  You ticked all the boxes, Tonya!

Camden Wilde quit the D.C. force to work for his brother’s security business Wilde Security, but that hasn’t cut his ties with his best friend and former partner, Eva Cardoso.  Trouble is he’s longed for Eva their whole time together, but never wanted to risk ruining their friendship.  Add to that, she was seriously dating a college mate for the last two years, so it was out of the question.  Things are about to change in a big way when Cam and Eva get drunk on his brother’s destination wedding trip and lines are crossed!

She threw her head back against the door and groaned his name. His name. A roar of triumph filled his head. Maybe even rumbled from his throat. He didn’t give a damn. Eva was calling his name. Finally.

Before the night was over, he planned to know every square inch of Eva Cardoso’s body by heart.

Eva is freaked out about her night with Cam. She doesn’t do one-night stands, but she knows that Cam isn’t interested in anything more, he’s said that over and over through the years.  Plus, he’s her best friend, and she doesn’t want to lose him if things don’t work out.  But mind and body do not always agree and Eva’s can’t fight what she’s secretly longed for, for ages.

I love friendships that evolve into passionate romance!  Attraction that starts from a deep connection and closeness are often fiery HOT and Cam and Eva’s was combustible!  I wanted to smack both Eva and Cam upside the head a few times for denying their true feelings!  Fortunately, it didn’t have to come to that because these two come to their senses leaving me blissed-out-happy!

Being that this is a Wilde Security novel you know a bit of mystery and danger is involved.  Cam has found out there’s a price on his head and he needs to track down the killer.  Of course the Wilde Brothers are on high alert and full on protective mode when they hear the news. I did have my suspicions early on but it was exciting to see it all unfold!

I fell in love with these Wilde men a little more after finishing this installment!  Hot, dangerous, overly protective males, what’s not to love?!  There were glimpses of romance drama for Vaughn and Reece, and Greer has me worried, so I wonder which brother will get his story next?  Tonya Burrows continues to enthrall and excite me with her addictive stories, so I can’t wait for the next one!

Excerpt:

She peeked through the peep hole. Cam. Relaxing, she opened the door. “Hey, you scared the shit outta me. What—”

He didn’t let her finish. He stepped toward her, cupped a hand around the back of her neck, and pulled her lips to his, swallowing her gasp of surprise. His mouth tasted of minty toothpaste, and his hair was soaked, the spiky dark strands dripping down his back and shoulders as if he hadn’t bothered to dry off after a shower. He still wore the outrageous Hawaiian shirt, but it was unbuttoned, thrown back on as an afterthought. His shorts hung low, highlighting the V of muscle at his hips and doing little to conceal how very aroused he was.

She should push him away. Hadn’t she already decided this couldn’t happen between them? It was only going to complicate things and—

He flattened his free hand across the small of her back, drawing her flush against him, and his erection thrust insistently at her belly.

“Oh…”  Everything female in her shuddered with pleasure and her mind blanked of all but his taste, his scent, and a rising tide of anticipation. All such a delicious reprieve from the emotional turbulence of the evening, and she let herself melt into his kiss. Her nipples hardened under the silky material of her dress as she rubbed against his hard body. He maneuvered them far enough into the room that he was able to kick the door shut, then spun and pressed her back against the cool metal. His hands roamed under the skirt of her dress, found her ass, and boosted her up. She locked her legs around his hips. He was giving her the gift of release and, dammit, she needed it. Needed him. Right here, right now.

“Tell me to stop,” he groaned even as he surged hard against her, hitting all the right spots despite the maddening layer of his shorts still between them.

Eva dug her fingers into his scalp and gave his hair a punishing tug. “Don’t you dare.”

About the Author: Writing has always been my one true love. I wrote my first novel-length story in 8th grade and haven't put down my pen since. I received a B.A. in creative writing from SUNY Oswego and I'm now working on a MFA in popular fiction at Seton Hill University.

When I'm not writing, I spend my time reading, painting (badly), exploring new places, and enjoying time with my family. Give me a good horror movie over a chick flick any day. (And, let's be honest, I'll take a bad horror movie too!) I'm a geek at heart and pledge my avid TV fandom to Supernatural and Doctor Who. I'm also a big fan of The Voice. What can I say? Guilty pleasure.

I share my life with two dogs and a ginormous cat. I'm from a small town in Western New York, but I suffer from a bad case of wanderlust and usually end up moving someplace new every few years. Luckily, my animals are all excellent travel buddies.
