Sunday Post #67

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

Well, it's been insanity with all the Corona Virus news. The grocery stores are crowded and get cleaned out quickly! I was in Target on Friday and so many had their carts filled to the brim, and did not seem in good spirits at all, and there were a few who were downright rude. There were a couple of friendly people who managed to smile. I think times like these extra patience and courtesy goes a long way.
I hope you all stay safe, and have access to everything you need!

Undercover Bromance was a lot of fun! I'm giving away an ARC copy of it as well as the first book, The Bromance Book Club HERE if you're interested. The Janes was the second book in the Alice Vega series, and it was intense and crazy! I was worried for Alice and Max's safety more than a few times! I listened to the audio version of Echoes Between Us was really good!

I'm currently listening to One of Us is Next and it's good so far. I'm been dying for Chasing Cassandra and so I was thrilled to finally get a copy from the library. I'll be listening to that next. I requested The Girl From Widow Hills a while back and totally forgot about it. I got approval for it last week. Sounds like a good mystery to me.

Watched:

After watching the news I needed some laughs so I watched a couple of reruns!

How was your week?

  1. You are so right, Rachel. Instead of a "we're all in this together" attitude so many seem to take an "every man for himself" stance. It's unfortunate. I did a combination of reading and listening to Echoes Between Us and thought the audio version was really well done.

  2. People have been getting into physical fights in stores here. Its dangerous. Our school is closed for 3 weeks, so I am teaching from home. Hopefully things calm down a little.

  3. It's funny when you see people posting all kumbya stuff, because it was the Hunger Games at the supermarket. I hope to not have to go back again for a while. I love McManus's books. I was happy with the sequel. It wasn't as good as the first book, but it was still great, and it was fabulous to catch up with the characters from book 1.

  4. Yep, courtesy and smiles go a long way!

I still need to get to Undercover Bromance. It's setting there waiting. :)

    Have a great week, Rachel!

  5. I really enjoyed Undercover Bromance, more than the first one even. I'm trying to read Two Girls Down which I have from the library. Luckily, the things I want from the store aren't popular with others, plus I have backup supplies and a full freezer all the time so we are in pretty good shape.

Have a safe and healthy week! Enjoy your new reads!

  6. I noticed a lot of tenseness in the store yesterday, I think everyone's so on edge. How bad will this get? It's scary and hard to know.

I liked One Of Us Is Next. :)

  7. People are crazy, I went to a store and srsly, I got like 20% of what I needed so I went to 2 more. Sigh.
    But it will get bad

  8. It seems like this should be a time to help each other and a lot of people are but I think it brings out the selfish side of others. I think we are okay for a while. If we need milk or something, I might just try to get it at the gas station for right now. It looks like you had a great reading week! Have a wonderful week, Rachel!

  9. The Mexican market that I live next door to is still fully stocked while the big chair stores are half empty.

  10. Yeah, it's been really crazy out there. Hopefully the panic will pass soon.

  11. I refused to panic shop but I’m regretting now because the stores are emptying at a frightening rate.

Wishing you a great reading week and good health

  12. I feel so bad for everyone who works at grocery stores. People have not been nice about this whole thing. I hope you have a great week!

  13. I am also wishing you safety and a good rest of the week! My university recently closed to curb the spread of COVID-19, so I have been getting used to a new routine at home. I hope you enjoy the rest of One of Us is Next! I really liked reading One of Us is Lying and hope to pick up the sequel soon.

  15. Coronavirus is insane. People's reactions (hoarding and panic buying) are insane. I'm a little bit in disbelief at what's going on around the world... Hopefully a once in a lifetime situation but who knows?
