Sunday Post #283

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

Happy Sunday! I've been a little MIA and I'll be getting around and catching up with everyone later! I'm in Montana right now, headed to the ski resort as I type. We'll be going to the airport to go home right after. There's a lot of snow but it hasn't felt unbearably cold. We skied on Friday and I had a blast! I haven't been skiing in at least fifteen years, actually longer, since I was snowboarding for several years when my kids were teenagers. I like skiing more so I decided to do that instead.

  2. I've only been skiing once, and I was told it was really too icy, and I went home not really having enjoyed the skiing experience...so I should probably try one more time. You look like you are having a great time.

I'm curious about the Jojo Moyes book.

    1. Yes, ice will make for a miserable experience. I'd try it again, Deb. I loved We All Live Here!

  3. Looks like a great time skiing :) The rest of my family enjoys it, but you'd find me in the lodge with a book and a warm drink! Beautiful view from where you're staying.

    1. I enjoy doing that in between runs! It was too busy with little kids to do much of relaxing with a book in any location, though! Thanks! It was gorgeous!

  4. Beautiful pictures!! I'm so jealous of people who know how to ski. I do not have that level of coordination.

  5. Yay! I love skiing. We had season passes in Minnesota and went every weekend from when my daughter was 5 until she started high school. We went out on the train to Montana and skiied there one spring break too.

    1. Sounds like fun memories, Anne! I used to ski a lot, but just haven't made time for it over the years. Now with the kids interested again I'm sure we'll be going more. It was a lot of fun and I was happy it came back to me!

  6. What a beautiful view they have from their house! Lovely. And it sounds so fun that you were able to go skiing. It's really cold here (0F) so I'm glad it wasn't as bad there. The snow looks nice & fluffy. Yay!

    1. Thanks! Montana is known for their "big sky" and it really does live up to it! The lows were below 0 the first few days we were there, but thankfully it warmed up a bit the days we skied. It was 21 and 24 degrees. The snow conditions were excellent! No ice patches.

  7. I've never been skiing. I'm sure I would fall and break something.

  10. I have never skied. I do like visiting the snow but I am pretty sure I would hurt myself if I tried anything more than looking at the prettiness in amazement!

    Have a great week.

    1. The snow was gorgeous and I was a little worried about hurting myself after not skiing for so many years. Thanks! You too!

  12. What a fun trip! I haven't skied in ages...probably couldn't even do it any more. But I always loved being up in the mountains. :D

  13. I have never skied before! I think I'm more the type to sit in the ski lodge drinking hot cocoa and reading a book, lol. But it looks like a nice trip! Glad you are having a nice time!

  14. You're my hero for picking up skis after all these years and doing it. I liked cross country, but only tried downhill once. So glad you had a lovely visit up in MT.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

  16. I hope you enjoyed your time away and made it back safely. I used to love skiing, but I haven't been 7 years or so. I don't really have anyone to go with any longer and let's be honest, I hate the cold!
