Sunday Post #288

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.

I'm back from Montana! Travel delays on the way there made it so we didn't get in until 2:30 am. However, we had a great time with my daughter, SIL, grandkids and another family with kids. We went played games and went skiing. Unfortunately, I caught a virus and I'm now sick. Congested, achy and I just don't feel good.

I didn't take hardly any pictures. It seems like we were busy and on the go so much I didn't think about it. I also didn't get much reading or blogging in.

The cats were so happy when we came home last night.  They were meowing and running around. We have a house sitter, but I'm sure she doesn't dote on them like we do. Didn't get to bed until midnight.

The weather is nice this weekend. It was high 50s today and we get high 60s tomorrow. I was going to plant a bunch of seeds outdoors today, but didn't feel good. My husband says he'll do it with me tomorrow. I can just sit and point, haha!

I snapped a bunch of pictures while walking the property when I should've been resting. Blooming daffodils, primrose and cyclamen. I love spring flowers!

  7. Given the trip out was tough and you are ailing now, it's good to hear the actual visit was great. You went lower than I did on Oakley's book. I was a little let down. She is usually good for 4.5-5 stars for me, but I was not a huge fan of the climate activists plot. I agreed with a lot of your review on IG too.

    1. Yes, I was disappointed, especially since it started out strong. I feel like the other plot threads really detracted. I did want to find out how it all turned out, so there is that.

    1. Yes, it does seem like that! It's either me or my husband that catches something. He caught something last trip and so I guess it was my turn. Thank you! I love flowers! They make me happy.

  9. I'm sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. Sometimes our bodies make us rest when we don't want to. It really is a mixed blessing ;-) You're blossoms are gorgeous and there is plenty of time for seeds. Enjoy your down time with your books and kitties, both true balms for the mind, body, and soul!

  13. Glad you had a good trip and hopefully you are feeling better. My bulbs are just sprouting the green, and the temps are supposed to be below freezing tonight. I hope my daffodils will be okay!

    1. I hate that when things warm up enough for the blooms to start coming out and then snow or frost makes a late appearance! I think your blooms should be okay. Our daffodils made it through a late snow. Some even had flowers on them.

  14. Sounds like you had a good time and sweet the cats were excited to have their humans home. Hope you feel better soon, Rachel. Lovely spring blooms!

  15. I always love seeing your flowers around your yard. You have some of the best, so pretty and already blooming. I hope you feel better soon -- traveling is tough but glad you fun there. Starla is looking happy that you're home now. The Bear Attack book looks a bit scary ... will wait to hear what you think. I've read one of her books. Rest up this week.
