Excerpt
The muscles in my neck twitch. I take in a noisy breath so I won’t tell him to go shove the neck of his guitar up his arrogant, perfect ass. “I’m entitled to a vacation.”Wyatt lets out a dangerous chuckle. “Taken the exact moment we were supposed to see each other again? That shit won’t work with me, Kylie. You were trying to avoid me. You should’ve known this was going to happen since you’ve been ignoring me ever since Thanksgiving.”
Because he’s using my full name and not Ky or Bluebird, and since we once agreed to be honest with one another—even if that truthfulness aches like a fist to the heart—I give him the closest thing to a smile I can summon. “I’m entitled to a vacation that gets me away from you because seeing you always results in me losing my head for a few days.” A sensual grin begins to creep its way across his face, and I immediately add, “And those few days always, always end with you letting me down for something or another and me wanting to knee you in the balls.”
Grasping at his chest dramatically, he stumbles backwards and winces. “You’re scary when you’re pissed, Wolfe.” When I open my mouth to correct my last name, he presses his lips flat. “Don’t even fucking think about it.”
“Or you’ll what? Spank me?”
Running his gaze suggestively up the length of my body, he says softly, deliberately, “That’s coming anyway, Ky. You know how I feel about your ass.”
I loved that excerpt! It captures Wyatt perfectly and it shows just what Kylie has gotten herself into!

About the bookMy Thoughts:
Kylie Wolfe and guitarist Wyatt McCrae have been bad for each other for the last several years, but it’s impossible for them to end their toxic push and pull. Not when their attraction is constantly fueled by lust and proximity—she’s her older brother’s Lucas’s assistant and Wyatt is his best friend and band mate.
So when Your Toxic Sequel makes a move to record a new album in Nashville, Kylie decides to make the latest break with Wyatt official by getting the hell out of town. She’ll spend a week in New Orleans. A week to immerse herself in the Mardi Gras scene. One week to not think about the last time she was in New Orleans, seven years ago with Wyatt. Seven days where she won’t have to see Wyatt every day just to fall ridiculously in love with him all over again—where, if she wants to, she can have a normal, no-strings attached fling that won’t end in heartbreak.
Too bad Wyatt ruins everything by showing up, as gorgeous and demanding and goddamn awful for her as ever.
Wyatt refuses to let Kylie give up on him. Not without reminding her why they both fell so far and hard in the first place. Not without making her savor the good memories and what could be their last chance with each other.
Note: This is a spinoff from the Devoured series.
I don't know if I have ever read a book where the main characters were so in the words of the author toxic for each other. Kylie and Wyatt have that crazy push pull relationship where neither one of them can back away but they always end up hurting each other. Kylie has the blackbird tattoos to prove it. I am not sure how I feel about everything, but it has definitely left an impression on me.
I know this is a spin off series to the authors devour me series and I think I am going to have to read it soon. There is so much history between Kylie and Wyatt that isn't explained throughout this story that I think would have helped me understand why they are the way they are. Normally I am all about the bad boys but Wyatt just didn't grab me and I think most of that comes down to not really knowing who he is. I got to see the macho aggressive caveman and the sweet guy behind the tough facade, but I also got to see the a-hole who treated Kylie like complete crap and I really don't like that side of him. The whole story shows that they are bad for each other so I get that he isn't perfect, but from what little I learned about them they have had a horrible relationship and I am not sure if I can forgive Wyatt for his indiscretions. I wanted to shake Kylie for accepting him, he needed to grovel way more than he did in my opinion. And again this is all just based on just this story. I might have a different opinion after reading the Devour Me.
I think my favorite part of the book is the banter between Kylie and Wyatt. While they aren't good for each other their words let you know that there is something there and that it just might be something worth saving. The ending saved a lot for me and I am very curious to see what happens in the next book. I am not sure if the central characters story is over, but if it isn't I know I am in for one bumpy ride. I give Ms.Snow lots of credit because she has left me wanting the next book immediately to see if Kylie ended up with another blackbird of if these two characters finally managed to get it right.
