This week we are spotlighting:
Surviving Raine by Shay Savage
Published on May 19, 2013
About the bookAs the captain of a schooner catering to the elite on the Caribbean Seas, Sebastian Stark does his best to avoid any human encounters. Interacting with people isn’t his thing, and he prefers the company of a bottle of vodka, a shot glass, and maybe a whore. There’s no doubt he’s hiding from a checkered past, but he does well keeping everything to himself…
…until the night his schooner capsizes, and he’s stuck on a life raft with one of the passengers.
Raine’s young, she’s cute, and Bastian would probably be into her if he wasn’t suffering from alcohol withdrawal. As the days pass, DTs, starvation, and dehydration become the norm. Even the most closed person starts to open up when he thinks he’s going to die, but when she realizes their traumatic pasts are connected, it’s no longer the elements that have Bastian concerned.
He has no idea how he’s going to Survive Raine.
Arlene's Thoughts:
This has definitely caught my attention! The description sounds intense, the reviews seem to be promising and the overall storyline sounds extremely captivating! I'm ready to deep dive into this novel by Shay Savage to see how fate plays its hand with Raine and Bastian. Count me in!
Crystal's Thoughts:
I have to say that I am really liking the sound of this one! It has gotten some pretty great reviews from people that I trust and it honestly sounds WAY intense. I can't wait to see how Raine and Bastian deal with being shipwrecked together. And that one line "but when she realizes their traumatic pasts are connected" has me bouncing in my seat!! This book is definitely at the top of my must read list!
This book has also caught my attention but I am trying to catch up on other wave makers. I just started the Blackstone series, am I a bit behind or what?! haha
ReplyDeleteThe book that caught my attention this week is 'Lucky Number Four' by Amanda Jason! I don't have any quotes from that book but the blurb was interesting !

ReplyDeleteEscaping Reality by Lisa Renee Jones caught my eye! I love the cover and it sounds like a really good book with a mystery.
