The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.
I hope everyone had a happy New Year!
I worked three days this last week, leaving Wednesday night to go to the mountains with my kids and grandkids. The littlest (3 year-old) had a fever and threw up a few times so my daughter took her for a Covid test just to make sure and she tested negative. Still, my daughter, SIL my husband and I all caught her bug and are all miserable enough that we came home yesterday (Saturday). Thank goodness my son and DIL didn't get it. They came late and left early and weren't around our granddaughter as much as the rest of us.
I completed my Goodreads Challenge of 150 book with 169, and I even reached my Audiobook Challenge of 100 books with 102 books completed. I plugged in my Goodreads Challenge this morning. I'm aiming for 150 books again, which is the same goal I've had for the last four years.
Read:

The standout read was The Man Who Died Twice. The audio was fantastic! Finding Paradise and The Sorority Murder were also really good. Widow Falls and Autopsy started out strong, but the ending were a little disappointing. CJ Carmichael's novellas were enjoyable, too and are included with my Audible Membership.
Received/Purchased/Library Lend:
With the last two Christina Lauren's being absolute hits for me I was super excited to get Something Wilder. Didn't know The Suite Spot was centered on Anna Beck's sister from Float Plan, but it sounds so good! I have a hardcopy of A Flicker in the Dark through Book of the Month Club, so I was excited to be approved for an audio copy.

I haven't posted much or been on there in the last few days. I'd like to post my Best of 2021s on there. We'll see if I can figure that out.
How was your week?
Sorry you all got sick! That is a bummer! But the picture is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bummer! Thank you!
DeleteSorry to hear you were all sick, but I guess the silver lining is that it wasn't covid (?) I want to read the new CLo. Their books have been hits for me for the last few years. Congrats on hitting your GR challenge too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sam! Yeah, even though it's not Covid I'm still miserable. Yes, I've loved the last two books by CL and I can't wait to read this newest one! Thank you!
DeleteHope you're feeling better! I can't wait to check out Funding Paradise and The Suite Spot. Those authors other books were so good! Have a great week. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lark! I'm feeling marginally better today, but I called out sick. Finding Paradise was really good and I'm looking forward to reading The Suite Spot too! :)
DeleteHappy New Year! Sorry to hear they got sick though- that sucks.
ReplyDeleteThe Sorority Murder sounds like a good one...
Love that view!!!
Thank you, Greg! It does suck! The Sorority Murder was a great mystery. :)
DeleteI'm glad you were able to get away but sorry for those who got sick. I LOVED both the Man Who Died Twice and the Sorority Murder. I haven't hunted down that latest Christina Lauren book but she's and auto read. Happy New year!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
They were both so good! Yes, CL has been knocking it out of the park lately. Thank you, Anne! You too!
DeleteSorry to hear your got sick. Hope you feel better soon. I am currently listening to The Sorority Murder and I am enjoying so far.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nadene. I really enjoyed it. Hope you do, too!
DeleteI caught a bug and have been sick for a week but it's just a head cold. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteMine has turned into mostly a head cold too. Still have some body aches. Hope we both get better soon! Happy New Year to you, too!
DeleteUgh, that bug sounds awful. Hope you're all feeling better! Great job on meeting your reading goal.
ReplyDeleteLauren @ www.shootingstarsmag.net
Thanks, Lauren!
DeleteI am loving that view you shared....so gorgeous. Glad to hear that you met all of your reading goals. Cheers to some great reading finds in 2022. That sucks though you got sick, bugs are the worst. Hope you recover quickly.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Renee! My daughter has such a gorgeous view, I try to take advantage of it every time I'm up there by reading on their patio.
DeleteOh no. I'm so sorry you all got sick!
ReplyDeleteUgh, so sorry you're sick, Rachel. But happy it's not Covid (since those symptoms can linger for long after). Hope you feel much better this week. I'm the opposite with Christina Lauren. They had a couple in a row that were so middle of the road for me and I was disappointed. I didn't even pick up The Soulmate Equation last year. I'll be curious to see what you think of Something Wilder.
ReplyDeleteOh no, bummer the gathering got sick, but glad it was a bug. I've got one of those CJ Carmichael's on the pile and want to get to more of her books.
ReplyDeleteYay for making both your reading challenge goals and hope you do just as well this year.
Ugh, you had a bug too?! I was lucky enough to escape work before catching one before xmas
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that your family got sick. Hooray for meeting your reading/listening goals!! Well done!
