Sunday Post #53

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

It was a stressful busy week at work, and I still don't have my car back from the shop. I think I forgot to mention that I got rear-ended two weeks ago. With getting sick right after that I didn't think much about it, since I was dosed up on cold-meds 24/7 so I wasn't completely miserable. I wasn't seriously injured other than a sore back for a few days, so at least there's that. But it is a hassle to deal with.

I'm back up in Northern California and the weather is beautiful! Fall colors everywhere and the temps have been 60-70s. This is a park we visited:

I really enjoyed the audio of This Side of Murder.  There was a twist at the end, but I already knew about it, and I was happy I did. The Family Journal is Carolyn Brown's 100th novel and it was a delight! A copy of it as well as a $25 Amazon Gift Card is up for grabs HERE. I was thrilled with Someone to Remember, a novella featuring a second chance romance between a mature couple!

I downloaded a library copy of Treacherous is the Night once I finished This Side of Murder, and I'm eager to continue with the series!

Watched:

I'm still on my Marvel Universe binge and I really enjoyed both movies.

How was your week?

  4. Sorry to hear about your car, and yes, it's such a struggle with the insurance and the repair shop and just not having your own car. Wow! I couldn't imagine writing one book, never mind 100. That's amazing!

  6. I'm sorry about your accident and health troubles, hope you get your car back and feel better soon! Fall has been beautiful here too, but is now turning into winter way too fast for my liking. :D Yay for all the Marvel, I think it may be time to rewatch some movies for me too. :)

  7. Sorry about the car, but I’m glad you weren’t hurt! That photo is beautiful. The fall colors only last about a week here. Then snow destroys everything.

  12. Well, that's a bummer about not getting your car back yet. Glad to hear the accident didn't cause any linger pain for you.
Yes, that is gorgeous with the fall colors. We didn't get them much where I lived, but I loved driving into the foothills and mountains to see it.
Woohoo, glad you loved the first Verity Kent book and the other two which I also loved. :)

    Have a great week, Rachel.

  14. I am sorry about the accident. You are right it is a hassle and cars are hardly ever the same after they have been fixed. I am glad you were not seriously injured. Such pretty fall colors! Trees in our area are mostly bare at this point but I love it when they are pretty like your picture. Have a great week, Rachel!

  17. I finally saw Captain Marvel on a long flight recently (it was book related and you can read about that on my blog if you wish), so I ended up ranking my fav Marvel movies. Since you're on a binge, I thought you might appreciate it: https://jhohadli.wordpress.com/joannes-extra-ness/joannespicks I'd love to hear your rankings as well. I've been in an accident myself (not recently) but I appreciate the recovery can be long ...take care of yourself; and happy reading and viewing.

  18. Sounds like perfect weather up in northern CA! Hopefully you get your car back this week. My husband was without his for 3 weeks and he was so relieved to finally be back in his own car this week.

  19. I'm sorry about your car, but I'm really glad you're okay! The Sickness seems to be everywhere these days, and I'm getting over mine while dealing with newly sickened kiddos. Fun times! I really loved the new Spider-Man movie, but haven't watched any of the NEWER stuff. My husband has been deployed, so we've been waiting on him to get back to watch as a family. Have you seen Into the Spider-Verse? SO GOOD.
