Sunday Post #116

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

The hubby and I are on a long weekend away on the Central Coast of California. We needed a getaway after spending last weekend babysitting. It's been sunny and beautiful, if a little on the cold side. We've been wine tasting, hiking (see picture below) and just enjoying the beautiful scenery. We'll be on our way home tomorrow (Sunday) and listening to the second half of Wild Sign.

Ragged Point just south of Big Sur, California

So I've been going back and forth about starting an Instagram for Waves of Fiction, and I've finally caved and decided to go for it. If you're interested click HERE for my profile.  I have my very first post up and would love a follow (I'll follow back!). I'd appreciate any advice for posts. I really have no idea what I'm doing here. If I'm featuring a book that I review on the blog what kind of details to I include? Book description, release date, status updates?

Every Waking Hour is a library lend, Ellery Hathaway #4 and I can't wait! I was sent an email featuring The Love Hypothesis. Had me at "Grump + Sunshine"!

More British Castles. The history is fascinating!

  1. So pleased to hear you and your hubby enjoyed a long weekend away - It looks glorious! It is also great to see you have been enjoying watching Secrets of Great British Castles, as I really enjoyed that too! I just wish they had made more of it, because there are plenty more castles here they could hav done about.

As for me, I have enjoyed a quiet, relaxed week catching up with friends and family, books and reviews, as we are currently in the middle of the schools' two week break for Easter. Take care and happy reading in the coming week, Rachel 🙂

  2. Big Sur looks beautiful! Hope you had a nice relaxing weekend. I commend you for starting an Instagram. I am so bad with consistency, and I know that's important on that platform. I started something I liked, did it a few times, and didn't keep up with it. I have to work on that, but good luck to you!

  3. Yes! So glad you're on Instagram. I just followed you. I usually do bookish posts on there so you're on the right track. Also, when I remember, I put up what's on the blog for any given day. Welcome to bookstagram!

    1. Thanks, Anne! Yeah, I guess we'll see with Instagram. Loved Wild Sign the second time around. We just finished the audio back at home. Couldn't stop listening.

  7. Getaways are always so great, aren't they? But they do sometimes make it harder to return to real life. Hope you enjoy Every Waking Hour. And good luck this week. :)

  11. What a beautiful place to relax! Glad to see you enjoyed all three of your books. I need to try Sally Hepworth. Love Hypothesis looks fun.
I followed you. As to posting, I post books I get in the mail, nature pictures, sometimes cooking/baking, my cats, hobbies, but I'm not very consistent.

    Have a good week, Rachel!

  12. What a lovely weekend! Congrats on starting your Bookstagram. I don't put a ton of details about the book, but you can share as little or as much as you want. I know some people have a photo with the summary as their second picture sometimes so you don't have to type it all up. I hope my Behind the Bookstagram will help out with some tips too!
