The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.
The hubby and I are on a long weekend away on the Central Coast of California. We needed a getaway after spending last weekend babysitting. It's been sunny and beautiful, if a little on the cold side. We've been wine tasting, hiking (see picture below) and just enjoying the beautiful scenery. We'll be on our way home tomorrow (Sunday) and listening to the second half of Wild Sign.
Ragged Point just south of Big Sur, California
So I've been going back and forth about starting an Instagram for Waves of Fiction, and I've finally caved and decided to go for it. If you're interested click HERE for my profile. I have my very first post up and would love a follow (I'll follow back!). I'd appreciate any advice for posts. I really have no idea what I'm doing here. If I'm featuring a book that I review on the blog what kind of details to I include? Book description, release date, status updates?

Changing the Rules was entertaining, The Good Sister was fantastic, and you just can't get much better than Patricia Briggs!
Every Waking Hour is a library lend, Ellery Hathaway #4 and I can't wait! I was sent an email featuring The Love Hypothesis. Had me at "Grump + Sunshine"!
More British Castles. The history is fascinating!
How was your week?
So pleased to hear you and your hubby enjoyed a long weekend away - It looks glorious! It is also great to see you have been enjoying watching Secrets of Great British Castles, as I really enjoyed that too! I just wish they had made more of it, because there are plenty more castles here they could hav done about.ReplyDelete
As for me, I have enjoyed a quiet, relaxed week catching up with friends and family, books and reviews, as we are currently in the middle of the schools' two week break for Easter. Take care and happy reading in the coming week, Rachel 🙂
Yes, I wouldn't mind more on the British Castles! Nice to hear you enjoyed a quiet week on break. Thanks! You, too, Jessica! :)Delete
Big Sur looks beautiful! Hope you had a nice relaxing weekend. I commend you for starting an Instagram. I am so bad with consistency, and I know that's important on that platform. I started something I liked, did it a few times, and didn't keep up with it. I have to work on that, but good luck to you!ReplyDelete
Thanks! It was a lovely long weekend! Yeah, we'll see how I do with posting. I'm so slack and hit and miss with Facebook so we'll see.Delete
Yes! So glad you're on Instagram. I just followed you. I usually do bookish posts on there so you're on the right track. Also, when I remember, I put up what's on the blog for any given day. Welcome to bookstagram!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Joy! And thanks for the follow! I followed back. We'll see how it goes.Delete
That is some gorgeous scenery!! Secrets of Great British Castles looks really interesting!ReplyDelete
Thanks! It is an interesting show.Delete
Oh my gosh I love your pics so much! That is just beautiful! I snagged The Love Hypothesis as well.ReplyDelete
It looks like a fun read, right?Delete
Great photos! I'm happy you are able to get some time away. I am still avoiding Instagram. Wild Sign is amazing. I am also interested in the Love Hypothesis.ReplyDelete
Anne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thanks, Anne! Yeah, I guess we'll see with Instagram. Loved Wild Sign the second time around. We just finished the audio back at home. Couldn't stop listening.Delete
Getaways are always so great, aren't they? But they do sometimes make it harder to return to real life. Hope you enjoy Every Waking Hour. And good luck this week. :)ReplyDelete
Yep, part of me wants to get back and the other park would like to stay on vacation indefinitely. I miss my cats, though. :)Delete
I love the picture. Have fun.ReplyDelete
I watched a tiny bit about castles this week too :D I learned about poop, lolReplyDelete
Great thing to learn about, lol! :)Delete
That looks like a wonderful place to hike. So beautiful there, with the ocean in the distance. and Big Sur is somewhere I want to go, everything I've seen of it looks beautiful!ReplyDelete
Good luck with IG! I started one too a while back but it's been months since I updated it. Argh...
It is a gorgeous place to hike. I'm still sore as it was kind of a brutal one!Delete
Yeah, not sure I'll be consistent with Instagram. We'll see.
Yay for getaway weekends :-)ReplyDelete
Oh such beauty! What a wonderful trip! I look forward to hearing how you like The Love Hypothesis the cover is cute!ReplyDelete
Thanks! I hope the story is good too. :)Delete
What a beautiful place to relax! Glad to see you enjoyed all three of your books. I need to try Sally Hepworth. Love Hypothesis looks fun.ReplyDelete
I followed you. As to posting, I post books I get in the mail, nature pictures, sometimes cooking/baking, my cats, hobbies, but I'm not very consistent.
Have a good week, Rachel!
Thanks for the advice, Sophia Rose! I appreciate the follow! :)Delete
What a lovely weekend! Congrats on starting your Bookstagram. I don't put a ton of details about the book, but you can share as little or as much as you want. I know some people have a photo with the summary as their second picture sometimes so you don't have to type it all up. I hope my Behind the Bookstagram will help out with some tips too!ReplyDelete
I'll probably just post a photo, but that's a great idea! Yes, I've been enjoying your posts. Thanks, Lauren. :)Delete
