Sunday Post #118

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week.

Had a really busy week at work and home with finalizing details on our kitchen revamp.  I've also tried to be more consistent with exercise, which left little time for reading and blogging.

It was really cloudy this morning but the sun came out for my run. Everything is still green and pretty.

Must Love Cowboys was a total win! Love the whole series. My review will be up this week. I've enjoyed the Lady Darby series, but this installment wasn't my favorite. Still a good listen.

Loved Repeat by Kylie Scott so I was happy that we're getting another story in the same world again narrated by Andi Arndt! The story is only available as an audio book right now, but it's included if you have an Audible membership. The e-copy releases July 13th.

I started an Instagram for Waves and I'm still learning and experimenting. I just figured out how to embed the post below, but I'd love to make it smaller. Not sure how to do that yet. Any tips?

Watched:

My husband changed internet providers several months back and HBO Max was part of the deal. I didn't figure this out until he was watching The Flight Attendant (not a fan) last weekend.  Anyhow, there's a lot I want to try now, but I watched an episode of Mare of Eastown which was really good and an episode of The Nevers which I really liked as well. Will probably watch more of The Nevers tonight and the new episode of Mare tomorrow night as only one episode comes out each Sunday.

How was your week?

  2. Kitchen renovations are equal parts exciting and a nightmare. LOL Hope it all goes well. I saw the new one by Kylie Scott but it confused me. In repeat the girl had amnesia and now in this one the girl was in a coma... it sounded so similar that I wasn't sure I wasn't to pick it up. I'm still on the fence.

    1. I agree! I hope it goes well, too!

Yeah, the premise does sound similar, but I still want to give it a go. We'll see how it goes. :)

  3. Well done on keeping your exercise consistent and for finalising your plans for a kitchen revamp - no wonder you have had little time to read! My week was also busy, tiring but good, as we returned to school after a two-week break. Take care and I hope you squeeze in a little more reading in the coming week. 🙂

  5. Oh kitchen reno sounds exciting (and also daunting-my parents did it a year or so ago and it was exhausting). Have a great week!

    1. I've seen good things about Beth O'Leary's writing so I guess we'll see. My daughter loved The Flat Share, but I never got to it.

  8. Yay for a new look in the kitchen and way to go on your health goal progress. I liked, but didn't love this latest Lady Darby, too. Neat to find all new to you shows to enjoy with the different provider.

    Have a great week, Rachel!

    1. Kiera's sister, Alana was so horrible, and then she didn't stand up for herself. It wouldn't have been bad except that it happened so much throughout the story I wanted to throttle Alana! Didn't matter that she was sorry at the VERY end. Glad it wasn't just me. Sometimes I think I'm just being picky. :)

  9. We do not have HBO :/ But I have been thinking about it, but every time I mean to change Netflix comes out with something new ;)

    1. Yeah, if I had to pay extra for it I wouldn't, but the shows have been really good so far!

  10. Ooh good luck on the kitchen revamp! And The Nevers looks like a lot of fun. I kinda want to try that show!

  11. I want to watch The Nevers. We put it on a couple nights ago but we wanted background noise and it was proving to be not a great choice for background noise lol i haven't watched Mare of Eastown yet but I do want to watch that as well!

  14. Wishing you luck through your reno! And yay for getting more exercise in. I've opted to listen to audio books as I go for walks or runs.
