The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated reviewer book blog, and is a post to recap my bookish and non-bookish things from the last week. I'm also linking up to The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance @Readerbuzz.
Happy Sunday!
We've been in Montana since Tuesday at my daughter's house. The weather was gorgeous. Cooler than at home. Just flew home today (Saturday) and I work tomorrow (Sunday). We head out for Idaho and Grand Tetons on Wednesday, a road trip this time, as we make our way back out to Montana again. It's a busy summer for us!
I had two disappointing reads in a row and both were review books. I listened to The Defense and loved it, finishing it in one day. I had read a couple of the Eddie Flynn series in the past, but out of order. I'm starting from the beginning now. Loved Whisper Creek as well. Started yesterday and finished while traveling home today.

I don't even know. I'm too tired to sort it out right now.

You have been on the go! I hope you get a little time soon to sit down and relax and rest. I'd love to live in Montana...in the summer only, though.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter lives there only during the summer, too. We've been there a few times over the winter to ski and it was cold, but not as cold as I thought it would be.
DeleteThose flowers are gorgeous!!! And the cat too!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought so, too!
DeleteI am glad to hear your travels have been wonderful because I have never seen such low ratings for your book. Ouch! Hope this week is a better reading week. That is one majestic kitty.
ReplyDeleteYes, I hate it when I don't enjoy a book. I'm picky when I take on a review book, so it was a surprise. Thank you. I hope so, too. Majestic is exactly the word I thought when I saw the photo! My daughter took it.
DeleteWell enjoy your busy summer Rachel!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope to get some downtime soon!
DeleteYou are busy. I'm sorry you had 2 disappointing reads. I like the Eddie Flynn books but have only read the first couple. I also just finished Whisper Creek yesterday. I am worried about keeping on top of things while traveling myself. I've got every set for the Read-along post this Friday though. Montana and cooler weather sounds great. I am curious to see how things go as we go north for our trip.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Yeah, it was a bummer and impacted my mood. I had to switch to something I knew I'd enjoy. Looking forward to your thoughts on Whisper Creek. I think I'll post my review on Tuesday. I'm too tired to write my review tonight. I hope you have a wonderful trip, Anne! Looking forward to hearing about it.
DeleteWow, 32 puzzles this year, that is incredible. I would love to visit Montana sometime. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love working them! Montana is beautiful! Hope you get to visit. You have a great week, too!
DeleteLove the picture of the adventure-kitty and the gorgeous wildflowers!
ReplyDeleteHe is an adventure kitty! He loves hunting around in Montana, living his best life! The wildflowers are gorgeous there and it's so green, too!
DeleteThat cat picture is so cute. You really are busy right now. Loved the flowers.
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute! I love the pose. My daughter took the picture and I thought it turned out so well!
DeleteI haven't been hearing good things about Headlights! Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wasn't a fan of the writing. It was all over the place and as an audio it made my head hurt! You too!
DeleteLove that you're making these trips out to Montana for family and to see some beautiful sites. Pretty cat! Bummer about the two duds, but looks like your last two were good ones.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and safe trip, Rachel!
Yes, we're having fun even though it's a bit busy for us. It was a bummer. I usually have a good sense of what I'll like, but unfortunately it didn't work this time. Thank you, Sophia! You have a good week, too!
DeleteThat could be an award-winning picture of the cat.
ReplyDeleteI agree! My daughter took the picture so it's all her!
DeleteThe Wildflowers are beautiful, and your cat looks majestic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your week, happy reading!
That's exactly the word I used when I saw the photo my daughter took! Happy reading to you, too!
DeleteMy goodness - what a busy summer! The wildflowers are absolutely beautiful and your daughter's cat is gorgeous. I hope getting organised for another trip away in such a short timescale isn't too stressful!
ReplyDeleteYes! It has been a bit stressful, but I've got everything packed and I'm ready to go now. I'm looking forward getting to our destination!
DeleteGlad you had such a good time in Montana! I love a summer full of getaways and trips. My only trip this summer is to Bryce Canyon this week, but I'm looking forward to getting away for a few days. Have a great week! :D
ReplyDeleteI want to visit Bryce! I hope you have a wonderful time and hopefully share some photos, Lark! You too! :)
DeleteI loved Montana when I went on a dinosaur dig after I graduated college WAY back in 1995. It's such a beautiful state and all of that area, I need to go back some time. You're so good about finishing two books that were both 2 stars. These days, even if it is a review book, if I'm going to probably rate it that low, I will DNF instead. Sorry that they didn't work for you! Hope you have better reading this week!

That sounds like a fun visit! Yeah, I wouldn't have finished except I wanted to know how it all turned out. That's the reason they got 2 stars instead of just one. Thanks, Lisa. I hope so too!
DeleteWhat a busy summer indeed! Safe travels and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt is! Thanks, Jen!
DeleteI'd love to take a trip to some cooler weather! Safe travels this week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ethan! I'm looking forward to the cooler weather!
DeleteFun puzzle. Glad the weather was good on your trip!
ReplyDeleteWhoa that's a lot of travel ... but it sure is beautiful country! I hope you enjoy it and feel rested. Love the puzzle and I'm curious about the collar on the cat. Is that a locator on the collar ... so you know where he is? thanks. Enjoy your time with family.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful country! We just got back from Montana and other parts yesterday. 13 + hour drive home!! Yes, the collar is for tracking his whereabouts. My daughter can also send a ping that plays a little jingle and he knows it means for him to come home. It's been very helpful getting him back in at night!
DeleteWoW I love that cat, he looks bigger than he is
ReplyDeleteHe is on the bigger size, but he does look bigger here!
