My Thoughts:

Zelda left her old life of hanging out with trouble making vampires and causing chaos with her magic behind. She now leads a responsible life as a yoga instructor, trying to keep her magic in check. However, she’s been having a bit of trouble with her magic spilling over, so she needs to figure out ways to expel it safely. In addition to that worry, Reggie, her old vampire best friend, has sent an amnesiac vampire, Peter, to her door thinking she might be able to help him figure out how to get his memories back. They agree to go on a road trip, stopping at places listed in Peter’s journal to jog his memory while Zelda practices using her magic once again in some remote spots.

 

I enjoy a good amnesia trope! Peter and Zelda were sweethearts. Their road trip was a great way for them to get to know and fall for each other with some whacky stops along the way. I laughed my head off over Big Earl’s Singing Chicken Emporium (I need one of those hats!) and there were other hijinks along the way, too!

 

We got to visit with Reggie and Frederick again, which was a laugh with their less than helpful advice!

Road Trip with a Vampire was silly, spicy fun!

My Thoughts:

Amelia needs a date for her cousin’s upcoming wedding. She’s worked hard to get to where she is in life with a career she loves (an accountant) and she isn’t searching for romance. However, she’s tired of the pitying glances and fielding her family’s questions about why she’s still single. An unexpected run in with Reginald Cleaves provides the perfect solution.

 

Reginald is running from The Collective, a vigilante vampire organization hunting him for a century old crime. He runs into Amelia, and she provides him a cover. Her proposition to play her boyfriend in all the events leading up to her cousin’s wedding is no imposition since he’s already fascinated by the organized and stunning CPA!

 

Reginald was a character! He cracked me up! Amelia was a sweetheart, too, and I loved these two together. I had to laugh at some of her cluelessness regarding the whole vampire thing. Loved the interactions between Amelia’s dad and Reggie.

 

My Vampire Plus-One was whacky and fun with a bit of danger, adding a bit of excitement! A pure delight!

My Thoughts:

Cassie needs a place to stay as she’s about to be evicted for late/non-payment from her current apartment. She’s been struggling to make ends meet as an artist, working two jobs to get by when an advertisement for a room pops up sounding too good to be true.

The apartment is gorgeous, as is her roommate/landlord, but he’s a bit odd, but Cassie’s out of options and Fredrick seems harmless. That is until she finds his stash of blood in the fridge! Once the shock wears off, Fredrick has a proposition for Cassie: stay and help him navigate the 21st century.

I had a good time with this fish-out-of-water kind of story, with Frederick trying to figure out and fit into modern society after being out of it for a hundred years. Falling in love wasn’t part of the plan but Cassie and Frederick fall bit by bit over notes, text messages, and experimental outings.  

My Roommate is a Vampire was a cute, light-hearted romance that cracked me up and made me smile! Plus, got to love a book that pays homage to Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
