About the book
Humans and archangels don’t mix on the best occasions. When Saffron Morin goes to the gates of the demon colony, Eden, in search of her sister, she meets an archangel who is curious one minute and hostile the next, and she ends up the colony’s “guest” against her will.
Kestrel’s archangel psychic talent tells him the human woman’s life is in danger. Despite her family’s association with poachers who hunt archangels for their valuable feathers, he vows to save her life. Enemies by birth, lovers by choice, they give in to growing attraction as days pass.
Even if he succeeds in saving her life, he must hurt her to protect others of his kind, and he may not be able to live with himself after a betrayal he has no choice but to commit. In order to find redemption, the Collector’s daughter and an archangel must first find each other.
My Thoughts:
I.WANT.MORE! That is the thought that popped into my head after finishing this story. The world is beyond creative, the characters are ones that I don’t want to let go, and the writing is superb. Again I.WANT. MORE
Saffron needing to find her sister goes to Eden, the city in the forest that is home to archangels and their demon guardians. She knows she might not come back given the nature of the Guardians and being the daughter of the infamous angel killer, but she has to find her sister nothing else matters.
Kes, an archangel, who has grown tired of living hears the death whispers of a human at the gate Eden. Curious as to who she is and why she is knocking on death’s door he goes to investigate. What he finds might be the end of his life as he knows it, but will it be for the better?
These two are dynamic and very entertaining. I loved their banter and I have to say that their interactions are way steamy. Beyond the steaminess though lies a very interesting story that totally captivated me from the start. I wanted to know more about Eden, more about this whole Guardian/angel relationship, and of course I wanted more Kes and Saffron. Even though this was a very short story I totally felt drawn in and the conclusion left me satisfied. I want more as you know but I loved the way it all ended and how Kes and Saffron proved their love for one another in two totally separate ways.
Ms.Gilman I am a fan for life and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. I am REALLY hoping it is set in this world *crosses fingers*
